Every rhino protected is the result of an extraordinary team effort. 🦏💚

This beautifully crafted short conservation film offers a rare glimpse into one of those extraordinary moments—a rhino receiving a GPS tracking collar, an essential conservation tool that helps monitor movements, strengthen protection efforts, and support the long-term conservation of South Africa's rhinos.

At Chipembere Rhino Foundation, we know that meaningful rhino conservation is only possible through collaboration. Every successful conservation operation depends on dedicated conservation partners, veterinarians, pilots, rangers and supporters working together towards one shared purpose.

We are incredibly grateful to our many supporters who make our work possible. Saving Rhino One at a Time. 🦏💚

🦏 This week saw a significant development in what South African authorities have described as the world's largest rhino horn trafficking investigation.

Following investigations that began in 2007, Dawie Groenewald and Tielman Erasmus were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges linked to illegal rhino hunting, dehorning, racketeering and money laundering. The case involved more than 1,700 charges and exposed the scale and sophistication of criminal networks threatening rhinos across Africa.

According to reports, Groenewald was fined R2 million or faced four years' imprisonment, together with additional suspended sentences and conditions, while Erasmus was fined R100,000 or faced three years' imprisonment.

For those working to protect rhinos, it is a reminder that conservation is about far more than safeguarding animals. It requires intelligence gathering, law enforcement, dedicated field teams, technology, strong partnerships and long-term commitment.

Every rhino protected is the result of countless people working together behind the scenes.

The fight against wildlife crime continues. 🦏💚
