Project Hope PE

Project Hope PE Project Hope is a registered non-profit organization, with a vision to positively impact children.

Project Hope is a registered non-profit organization, with a vision to positively impact the lives of children in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth. Founded in February 2000 by Mariana Crompton, we aim to address the neglect, abuse and poverty suffered by children in the Helenvale, Bethelsdorp, Bloemendal and Booysens Park suburbs. Gang violence, substance abuse and the high unemployment rate i

n our city has made for a formidable task, but shining a beacon of hope, and seeing the lives of hundreds of children improve, makes every effort worth it. As a children’s outreach initiative, we work with children between the ages of 3 and 13. Our initial vision was to establish Sunday school outreaches at various locations. Working closely with a team of young people from the area we began by renting classrooms. From here onward, the functions performed by Project Hope, and the number of children’s lives affected by trained volunteers, proper meals, donations and life skills training programmes has grown rapidly. Project Hope has built relationships with parents and guardians, teachers and social workers to better support the social and economic needs of each child. We have a proven track record of successfully implementing life skill teachings and providing nutritional meals to more than 400 children every week. Schools and families alike have indicated that they need Project Hope to play a greater role in supporting children, youth and families in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth. Vision

Winter Drive 2026

As we approach the colder days of winter, help us collect soup ingredients for a soup mix meal and or children's winter woolies for our Winter Drive this year.

The Soup mix meal consists of:
Rice, Lentils, 4 in 1 Soup mix, Beef/chicken stock cube, 1 Pkt Soup powder. Once you add water it makes a warm pot of soup that can feed a family of four.

We will hand these meals out to the families of the children in our programmes.

Winter woolies can be, beanies, scarves, socks, gloves or blankets.

A New Year of Hope: Back to School Blessing 2026

To our wonderful children and dedicated volunteers of the Sunday School Outreach and Bloemendal Homework Club, as we step into this new school year, we speak this blessing over you:

May you walk into your classrooms with confidence and peace, knowing that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. We pray that God grants you a "spirit of wisdom and revelation" to understand everything you learn.
May your minds be sharp to grasp new concepts.
May your hearts be kind to make new friends and stand up for others.
May your feet be steady as you walk the path toward the big destiny God has planned for you.
May you fulfill 1 Timothy 4:12 that you will be examples to all believers.
Remember, you aren't just learners; you are the future leaders, and we are so proud of you!
