🌟 Meet Our Keynote Speaker – Kim Vos from Zanethemba Charity Foundation!

This Tuesday, we’re excited to hear from Kim Vos, Office Manager at Zanethemba Charity Foundation.

Kim is deeply involved in the day-to-day running of Zanethemba and works closely with the team caring for abused, abandoned and neglected children from birth to six years old. Her role has given her a firsthand look at the realities these children face, the challenges of caring for them, and the incredible difference a safe place can make.

Passionate about being a voice for children who cannot speak for themselves, Kim will share a personal and eye-opening look into the work happening behind the doors of Zanethemba.

If these walls could speak, we would all probably run in horror. But we can’t. We push through the pain, because little lives are depending on us.

Depending on us to act in their best interests, to fight for what’s right, and to ensure that they are safe.

Some cases are extremely challenging. Having to tear a securely attached child from their primary caregiver’s arms, knowing that in that moment, you become the person they fear most. Having to witness the confusion, the fear, the tears and still know that you have to do what is necessary to protect them.

It is heartbreaking. It is exhausting. And sometimes, it stays with you long after you leave these walls.

But then you remember why you do it.

Because these little lives deserve a chance. They deserve safety. They deserve to be protected, heard and loved. And sometimes, being their voice means having the courage to do the hardest thing imaginable.

We're in need of three/four volunteer waitresses/waiters for one of our fundraisers on the evening of the 3rd of Oct. You will be given a meal in return and get to partake in the fun afterwards.

❤️ SOME STORIES COME FULL CIRCLE

Today, we want to introduce you to someone very special.

TUFFY was adopted at just 18 months old.

He was welcomed into a family where he has spent the past 21 years surrounded by parents and siblings who have loved him, encouraged him and supported his dreams.

Music was part of Liam from an incredibly young age. At just three years old, he taught himself to play the drums. At 15, during Covid, he learnt guitar and piano.

Then, in April 2025, Liam found his musical voice.

His family and friends encouraged him to take a chance — and he did.

Since then, that leap of faith has taken him onto stages opening for some incredible South African artists, including Matthew Mole, Majozi, Will Linley and the Saxby Twins, as well as performing alongside Afrikaans music icons at the 2026 Kirkwood Wildsfees.

But there is another part of Liam's journey that means a great deal to us.

Liam knows what it means for a child to be given a family. ❤️

And now he wants to use the opportunities his music is creating to make a difference in the lives of other children.

Liam has chosen Zanethemba Charity Foundation as a cause he wants to stand behind as his musical journey grows.

For an organisation caring for babies and young children who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are in crisis, there is something incredibly meaningful about that.

A little boy who was once adopted and given a family is now a young man saying:

“How can I help the next child?”

And we think that's pretty extraordinary.

Liam says that one of the greatest privileges of making music is meeting people and hearing how his music has helped them through different moments in their lives.

Now, together, we hope his music can help write another kind of story too.

A story of safety.
A story of hope.
A story of belonging. ❤️

This is only the beginning.

The Andrew Mentis Trust Charity Bowls Evening at the Mill Park Bowling Club lives or dies on its prize table. Entry fees cover the night. The auction and the raffle are where the real money for the Zanethemba Charity Foundation gets made.
