Creating a hunger free society in South Africa through free food distribution, driven by principles of integrity and purity.

Mission Statement: To eradicate hunger and malnutrition in South Africa, Port Elizabeth. Food For Life Port Elizabeth, is a nonsectarian and non-discriminating organization that respects all religions and cultural traditions and has volunteers from all religious and racial backgrounds who are involved in programs all over the world. Food For Life Port Elizabeth is affiliated to Food For Life South

Africa, which is one of the country's largest vegan/vegetarian food relief programme serving over a million plates of cooked meals a day and is funded mainly by member donations and corporate grants. Food For Life Port Elizabeth currently distributes approximately 600 plates of food per feeding day to the poverty stricken people of the greater Nelson Mandela Bay Metro. Food For Life Port Elizabeth, through it's parent body, Food For Life SA, utilises a SARS Section 18a status, thereby allowing a tax rebate on all donations received. In its purest form, food has the innate ability to break down barriers and heal body, mind and soul. Food for Life therefore serves only the purest of food—food that is prepared with love and served with love. Furthermore, recognizing that the ultimate solution to the problem of hunger is the elimination of poverty, Food for Life not only provides direct food distribution services, but also addresses, through its affiliated programs, diverse but related issues such as education, environmental health and sustainability, and health care.

Greetings friends. One small community in Missionvale were treated to warm meals this afternoon. 600 warm meals were distributed today. As always this is a very appreciative community for the meals they receive. A gentleman called Howard who received meals for the first time expressed his appreciation several times, and said " Blessed are the hands that give than those that receive" And with that he bestowed his blessings to our donors and to the cooks and volunteers. Special thanks to Aunty Beryl and Siyabonga for coordinating our feeding in the community.

Greetings all. Our team distributed 600 warm meals in Kleinskool this afternoon. We arrived just as the children were returning home from school, so there was a steady stream of smiling faces and grateful hands to receive these warm meals.
We are always grateful to our donors for making our services possible. Our main contributor to this afternoon's meal distribution was The Duray Naidoo Family in Australia. A big thank you to them and others for this first feed in August. Blessings to you all. Have a blessed week ahead.

Dear friends, our team distributed 600 warm meals in Barcelona this afternoon. The kids were excited to return home from school and see the Food for Life vehicle already there. This made for much excitement.
We are grateful to our donors for making today's meal distribution possible.

Greetings friends. Our team visited Booysen Park this afternoon where we distributed 600 warm meals. This impoverished community appreciated the warm meals on this chilly afternoon. Many people asked when we would return, as they enjoyed the meals and their hunger was dealt with - for a little while anyway.
We are grateful to the family from PE for sponsoring today's feeding. They asked not to be named, but they sponsored the meal in memory of their late father and husband.

Team FFL in PE distributed 600 warm meals in Booysen Park this afternoon. This was our first visit to this part of Booysen Park. Our visit was in response to an appeal made by Ciki, who works on community upliftment projects in the area. Ciki and her team did a fantastic job of spreading the word of our visit, in advance, so they were all organised and had gathered before we got there with their containers, and broad, warm smiles. Thanks to our donors for their contributions so the meal distribution could take place this afternoon.

This afternoon our team of 2 volunteers distributed 600 warm meals in Helenvale and Barcelona. The kids are enjoying a welcome break from school and we've added to their festivities with these warm nutritious meals. Apologies for not taking many pictures. It was a tough day prepping, cooking, serving and cleaning up, so not much opportunity to take pictures. Hope to do better tomorrow on that front :-)

Our FFL team in PE distributed 600 warm meals and plenty of fruit in Kleinskool this afternoon. We received a welcoming reception in the community.
We thank our sponsors for their generosity so we could distribute the meals this afternoon.
This is a special month as we celebrate Tata Madiba's birthday in a few days. Please connect and get involved in some way this month, and be part of the celebration.

Friends, FFL in PE teamed up with Baxolise Community Development Project, an NPO carrying out various outreach activities around greater PE. Together we distributed 600 warm meals. We stopped at 3 different points: the New Brighton Clinic, The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Noxolo ( our first time at these 2 places) and lastly at our regular spot in Ezinyoka.The meal recipients, especially those receiving them for the first time, expressed their satisfaction with the meals, and several times said they were very tasty. Many bellies were happy today :-)

Friends, Team FFL in PE collaborated with Junaida ( the Rainbow Warrior) this afternoon to distribute 600 warm meals in the Kabah community in Uitenhage. Junaida and her team did a great job of spreading the message of our meal distribution in advance. This was evident in the steady stream of children and adults who arrived well prepared to collect their meals. We appreciated serving with Junaida and her team today.

Today's meal distribution was sponsored by a family in the Hindu community in Uitenhage, who asked to remain anonymous. We thank them for their kind donation, which touched so many lives today.
