Commemorating International Menβs Day, men from KwaDwesi Extension and surrounding communities came together for a powerful and much-needed dialogue. The event also marked the launch of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, strengthening our collective stand against gender-based violence.
Hosted by the Department of Social Development in partnership with Likusasa Lomama CNDC and key stakeholders β including psychologists focusing on mental health, Ubuntu Pathways, Sanlam (financial literacy and advice), the Department of Health, Isibaya Samadoda, SAPS, and Ezingcanjini Menβs Project β the day offered important insights and support for men.
Dialogue sessions unpacked real challenges faced by men in our communities, such as unemployment, substance abuse, domestic violence, dysfunctional families, anger management struggles, the absence of father figures, and negative role modelling.
The gathering represented a strong and united step toward healing, accountability, and the building of healthier, safer, and more supportive communities for all.
