Jerusalem Ministries is now trading as

Turning Point Ministries.

Same heart. New name. A new chapter 💙

For more than 30 years, we have been walking alongside people in difficult circumstances, offering hope, practical support and a pathway towards a better future.

Today, our focus is clearer than ever: restoring men, rebuilding lives and renewing purpose.

We believe that a difficult chapter does not have to define the rest of a man’s story. Sometimes, all it takes is a turning point — an opportunity to stop, rebuild, grow and find a renewed sense of purpose.

Our new name, Turning Point Ministries, reflects what we believe is possible, that a difficult chapter does not have to define the rest of a man’s story. A turning point can change everything.

A note about the change:
Our legal name remains Jerusalem Ministries, and we are trading as Turning Point Ministries. As we begin using our new trading name and brand, there will be a period of transition.

This means that you may still see Jerusalem Ministries appearing on some official documents, registrations, banking information and other communications while we update our various records and systems.

The heart of what we do has not changed. ❤️

We are still the same organisation, with the same commitment to the men we serve and the same desire to see lives transformed.

We are simply stepping into a new chapter with a name that better reflects who we are and where we are going.

This October, Christopher Paxton will run 742 km from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town with a goal of raising R100 000+ for Jerusalem Ministries.

Having experienced homelessness himself, Christopher is turning his journey into an opportunity to help other men find hope, support and restoration.

For almost 30 years, you have known us as Jerusalem Ministries.

Today, we are excited to share the next chapter of our story.

We are now Jerusalem Ministries, trading as Turning Point Ministries.

Why Turning Point Ministries?

Because that is what we hope to be for every man who comes through our doors, a place where a man can reach a turning point in his life.

A turning point from homelessness towards hope.
From crisis towards stability.
From dependence towards independence.
From feeling lost towards finding purpose.

Our name is changing to better reflect the work we have been doing for years: restoring homeless men and helping them build a different future.

And what better way to introduce Turning Point Ministries than with an evening of wine, warmth and community, all while helping us continue this work.

Humanitarian work isn't only about helping people during disasters.

Sometimes, it's about helping someone rebuild their life.

It's about seeing the person behind the addiction.
Offering dignity instead of judgement.
Providing support instead of turning away.
And believing that change is possible.

Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we honour everyone who dedicates their time, compassion and energy to helping others find their way forward.

Because every person has value.

Every person deserves compassion.

And sometimes, one helping hand can be the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

Christopher’s journey is one of resilience, hope and giving back. Having once experienced homelessness himself, he is now preparing to run 742 km from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town to raise R100 000+ in support of Jerusalem Ministries.

Through this incredible challenge, Christopher hopes to help other men access the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.
