On Saturday, Egoqweni Empowerment Movement had the opportunity to attend the Gqeberha Mindshift Talks 2026 an event that brought together entrepreneurs, visionaries, community leaders and working professionals, creating a space to connect, be inspired and engage with like-minded people.

As an organisation that is passionate about empowering others and creating positive change in our communities, it was a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and build meaningful relationships.
A special thank you to Lindelwa Foundation and the entire team for the opportunity and for the work you continue to do in bringing people and communities together.

Last year we created a platform that opened conversation

THIS YEAR, WE ARE TAKING IT DEEPER.

We hosted a Parent and Child Relationship Open Discussion, creating a safe space where parents and their children could open up, talk, laugh, dance and reconnect. We witnessed the power of simply giving families an opportunity to talk openly about alcohol consumption (pens down). Parents and their children got a chance to hear each other and spend meaningful time together setting their family values on teenage drinking.

Now in 2026 we are opening another important conversation:

DEALING WITH THE INVISIBLE SCARS OF BULLYING

An Anti-Bullying Open Conversation

We will creating a safe space to talk openly about the invisible scars bullying can leave behind. The discussion will focus on practical tools for dealing with bullying building confidence and resilience, setting healthy boundaries, seeking support, and most importantly, learning how to stand against bullying without losing your identity or sense of self.

Don’t miss out!! Let’s have conversations that matter.

What an honour!

Egoqweni Empowerment Movement Founding Director, Amanda August, was invited by SABC’s Umhlobo Wenene FM to open the Women’s Month programme alongside esteemed leaders, including the MEC, Mam’ K, Pastor Zee, and other influential women and community leaders.

As we commemorate 70 years since the historic Women’s March of 1956,we honour the courage, resilience and strength of the women who came before us — and recognise the responsibility we carry to continue building a better future for generations to come.

Egoqweni Anti-Bullying Initiative Coming This September

No child should have to face bullying alone.

On 30 September 2026, Egoqweni Empowerment Movement will host the Anti-Bullying Initiative — a space where children, parents, professionals, and community leaders come together to support children affected by bullying and explore meaningful ways to respond, heal, and move forward.

This initiative aims to create a safe and supportive environment where families can engage in honest conversations, gain practical tools, and access guidance from different voices within the community.

Together, we will unpack the realities of bullying, strengthen support systems around children, and empower families with the knowledge and confidence to take meaningful action.

Join us for an impactful conversation as we work towards creating spaces where every child feels heard, protected, and valued.
