Today, on Youth Day, we remember that the future of South Africa depends on the opportunities we create for young people now.

Every child has potential.

But potential needs access.
It needs education.
It needs guidance.
It needs people who are willing to open the next door.

Amathuba Youth Trust, the charity arm of Southsure Brokers, exists to help young South Africans move from difficult circumstances into a future with more choice, more confidence, and more opportunity.

Because one opportunity can change a life.

A school fee paid.
A mentor who shows up.
A learner who stays in school.
A child who starts to believe that their future can look different.

That is how change begins.

👟 40 pairs. Countless smiles.
We’re proud to have partnered with Brian Bands Sports who played a key role in making this project possible. Together with Southsure Brokers and the Amathuba Youth Trust, we donated 40 pairs of sports shoes to the boys at ACVV Khayalethu Child and Youth Care Centre through our Sole Mates Project.
Every pair represents more than just footwear — it’s about dignity, confidence, and opportunity. Here’s to creating steps that matter. 💙

We’re so grateful to Southsure Brokers and the Amathuba Youth Trust for including ACVV Khayalethu Child and Youth Care Centre in their Soul Mates Project: a wonderful initiative that collects and redistributes pre-loved sports shoes to young people who need them.

Our boys were thrilled to receive these “lightly-loved” takkies, which will see plenty of new adventures on the playground and sports field.

Thank you for helping our boys stay active, confident, and ready for whatever comes next. 💙

Amathuba Youth Trust was born out of something simple but powerful — listening.

For years, our founder saw the struggles up close.
Learners who showed promise but had no support.
Graduates who left school with no clear future.
Communities doing their best with too little.

Around kitchen tables and school desks, the same question kept coming up.
What happens to these young people after the bell rings?
Where do they go next?
Who is walking that next part of the journey with them?

The answer became Amathuba.

This was never meant to be a charity.
It was designed to be a bridge.
A launchpad.
A place where young people are equipped, believed in, and empowered to create meaningful change in their own lives and communities.

We don’t hand out help.
We walk alongside.
We build together.
And we stay for the long run.

A belief that it was made to rise.

At Amathuba, we create those conditions.
We work with young South Africans to help them stand tall in their own lives and contribute to a country they can believe in.

Too many young people in South Africa wake up each day facing a hard reality. Limited access to education.
No support at home. No clear path to employment or purpose.

In under-resourced communities, surviving becomes the focus. But we believe that’s not enough.

At Amathuba Youth Trust, we were created to change that story.

We walk alongside young people who have the potential but not the opportunity. Through life skills training, real mentorship, educational support, and employment pathways, we help them move from surviving to thriving.

We don’t believe in short-term fixes. We believe in long-term futures. And we believe in the power of young South Africans to lead and rebuild their communities, once they are given the right tools.

Amathuba is a registered nonprofit and public benefit organisation working across South Africa.
We are not here to rescue. We are here to unlock what already exists inside each young person we serve.
