Sometimes, small efforts can make a meaningful impact in people's lives.

Yolokazi Mthi Matika encouraged Jonas to attend the Zenzele Youth Entrepreneurship Tour masterclass (YAEI x Absa), and we were incredibly happy to hear his positive feedback after he attended.

It was a very eventful and insightful day. A lot was said much of it resonated with his own experiences, while some of the discussions introduced concepts and information that he still needs to familiarise himself with.

As a young entrepreneur, Jonas realised that many of the obstacles he had previously assumed were unique to his personal journey are, in fact, common challenges experienced by many young entrepreneurs.

These challenges include business readiness for funding and expansion, which involves more than just having a good product or service. Entrepreneurs also need a clear business plan, product description, understanding of their target market, and proper financial records.

Other important discussions included accessibility to funding institutions, how to approach them, understanding what they require from entrepreneurs, and the transition from operating an informal or unregistered business to becoming a formally registered business.

The transition to a registered business opens up a new set of responsibilities, including understanding laws and regulations. Without the right knowledge and mindset, these requirements can sometimes become discouraging.

The event addressed these entrepreneurial challenges and many more, while also providing valuable insights from successful entrepreneurs, funding entities, and business development organisations.

The advice, information, and knowledge shared were truly valuable.

We are grateful that Jonas had the opportunity to attend the Zenzele Youth Entrepreneurship Tour. His positive feedback reminds us that sometimes all a young person needs is encouragement, access to opportunities, and someone who believes in their potential.
