What an amazing hike for MJ and the Troop.
The Troop did the hike in December 2025 at Norm Hudlin Trails.
From planning to completing the hike, he showed responsibility, commitment, and true Scout spirit.
Well done, MJ. We are very proud of you.

We are very proud of our Troop Scouter (Kobe) who is doing a warrant course. He is always aspiring, always growing, and he truly wants the best for our troop.

And Our SGL (Mariechen) is busy with her 3 beads assessments presentations so that she can give a wonderful Training to the Pack Scouters.

We are very proud of both of them.

Rescuing plants, growing our Scout home

After clearing the alien vegetation on our grounds, we are now bringing new life back to our Scout hall. We went on a plant rescue to collect indigenous, water-wise plants from a building site before the area gets flattened for construction.

It was such a special experience to save these plants and give them a new home where they can grow and be part of our green Scout space.

A big thank you to MJ’s mom for arranging the whole rescue. We really appreciate your help and heart for nature.

Meerkat on the Move!
One of our Algoa Sea Scouts Meerkats has just taken our scouting spirit across the pond! We are so excited to share that Luke recently visited a Scout group all the way in Grantham, England! It was a fantastic opportunity to share stories and show how the spirit of Scouting connects us no matter how many miles are between us. A massive well done to our world-traveling Meerkat for being such a wonderful ambassador for Algoa Sea Scouts and the Eastern Cape!

17 January 2026

Four members of the Algoa Sea Scouts (Kobe,Mj, Akela and Jane) proudly represented their troop by traveling to Port Alfred for an important meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss plans and ideas for the upcoming year, including the Cubs Pow Wow, various marketing techniques, and other scouting matters.

During the journey, the group made a few stops, but none compared to the memorable stop at Nanaga Express. There, they enjoyed food such as rooster brood and pies. Although the drive from Nanaga to Port Alfred was long, everyone made it through safely and had a great time together during the car ride.

Upon arriving at the hotel where the meeting was held, the scouts got ready, put on their scouting uniforms, and headed inside. They were the first to arrive and assisted another troop scouter with setting up before taking their seats.

As the meeting began, the scouts listened attentively to the district commissioner and other speakers. The talks were inspiring and covered a wide range of topics, including marketing, Cubs, Meerkats, Scouts, and various activities. There were also group games and interactive sessions, which made the experience enjoyable and engaging.

After the meeting concluded, the group made their journey back home, stopping once again at Nanaga Express. This final stop followed the well-known tradition of visiting Nanaga either on the way to or from Port Alfred, bringing the day to a perfect close.
