We visited wetlands with our environmental Ambassadors...

Mr Mfundo Chimarilo gave us a brief background on how do wetlands start, how they get assessed and evaluated to be officially called a wetland!

He further more says there are many species that live this that specific wetland and how drought affected these different species and plants!! We learnt on how we can also protect and keep wetlands clean!

We were able to see and understand why these wetlands are valuable to Flammingos and to human kind!!

LOM members and Ambassadors were glad to explore the wetlands and discuss it's vary periods of time during the year!

At Lean On Me NPO

In year 2021, about 2,1 million (11,6%) of South African households reported experiencing hunger.

The unemployment rate and Energy Poverty has overwhelmed Zwide community members, it has caused an increase to the current crime rate we are facing.

Today it was a cold morning in Zwide, we had an early loadshedding we then decided set up a table with hot water, coffee, tea and bread.

Thanks to the solar PV installed to one of the houses in Zwide, we were given a permission to boil water for community members.

This exercise has shown us Renewables are the future and they are sustainable.

Energy poverty is still a vital problem in our country, the lack of unreliable power supply has also affected individual businesses and development.

*Installed solar PV can help communities climb out of energy poverty.*
