Happy Father’s Day from the Alfred Zandisile Foundation

Today we celebrate every type of father out there. To the biological fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, coaches, and every man who chose to show up and love a child as his own — we see you. Fatherhood is not defined by blood alone, but by presence, sacrifice, and the daily choice to guide, protect, and provide. Your role in shaping families and communities here in the Eastern Cape and beyond does not go unnoticed.

To every father raising children in Veeplaas, in villages, and in cities: thank you for the prayers whispered at night, the lessons taught through action, and the strength you carry even when you’re tired. You are building the future one child at a time. The youth development work we do at Alfred Zandisile Foundation exists because of men like you who believe in raising responsible, respectful, and hopeful young people.

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14
This scripture reminds us that true strength is rooted in faith and love. May God bless you with wisdom, patience, and joy as you lead your families. May your sacrifices return to you multiplied in honor, peace, and pride.

From all of us at Alfred Zandisile Foundation, we salute you. Thank you for being pillars in your homes and hope in your communities. You are loved, you are appreciated, and you matter. May this Father’s Day bring you rest, laughter, and the reminder that your impact is eternal

Rise With Purpose

Your age is not a limit, it is a platform. 1 Timothy 4:12 reminds us: _“Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”_ The world may try to measure you by years, but impact is measured by character. Speak with wisdom beyond your age. Walk with integrity when no one is watching. Lead with love in spaces where hate is easier. Your youth is not a reason to wait — it is the reason to start now.

True leadership is found in the voice you choose to use. Proverbs 31:8-9 calls us to _“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves… defend the rights of the poor and needy.”_ Youth Day is not just about celebrating you. It’s about positioning you. You have energy, ideas, and access that older generations don’t. Use it to stand for justice, fairness, and equality in Veeplaas, in the Eastern Cape, in every room you enter. When you speak up for someone else, you step into the kind of leadership this nation needs.

There will be seasons when you feel tired, overlooked, and ready to quit. Isaiah 40:30-31 saw that coming: _“Even youths grow tired and weary… but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.”_ Burnout is real, but so is renewal. Rest, refocus, then rise again. Your strength is not just physical — it’s spiritual, mental, emotional. The same God who carried those before 1976 is still carrying this generation. You are not running on empty. You are being refueled for a higher flight.

Freedom is the inheritance of Youth Day. Galatians 5:1 says, _“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.”_ But freedom is not just the absence of chains. It’s the presence of responsibility. Free from peer pressure, so you can choose purpose. Free from fear, so you can take bold steps. Free from excuses, so you can build something with your hands. The youth of 1976 fought for political freedom. Today, we fight for freedom from poverty of mind, addiction, and self-doubt.

So this Youth Day, decide what example you will be. Let your speech be clean, your conduct be bold, your love be real, your spirit be unshaken, your faith be steady, your purity be your power. The doors ahead will not open for age — they open for example. You are not “the leaders of tomorrow”. You are the example of today. Rise up, Eastern Cape youth. The nation is watching, and your time is now.
