Crystal adores both attention and children, so being a live canvas for their artworks while being fed delicious carrot treats is always her favourite lesson plan. It was lovely to see how quickly our new students forgot to be nervous of the big animal and felt so comfortable to approach and interact with her, as soon as a palette and paint brush were placed in their hands!

Our fabulous visitors brought a bag full of flow toys to Healing Horses this week and taught the students how to use them, they were a great hit - thank you so much Grant, Nicki and Will.

Marin had to quickly rescue them from being munched by Crystal, a few of them looked like delicious flowers!

It was so lovely to experience these three students from Dambuza Primary on their first visit to Healing Horses, moving from initial fear and resistance into curiosity and brave interaction. Curious horses came to check out these humans and their big drums taking shelter in a calm corner by the forest this morning.

Thembi swiftly covered the basics of drumming before leading us on a rhythmic musical journey which blended beautifully with the breeze, rustling branches and birdsong.
