Ndlambe Lockdown Support Group
Since the lockdown was announced in response to the Covid19 Pandemic the Ndlambe Lockdown Support Group has provided over 7000 emergency food relief parcels as well as over 3000 masks to the People of Port Alfred. Further we have assisted with animals in need and are in the process of implementing a garden project to ensure food security.
Our organization is nonpolitical, nonreligious and does not discriminate anyone who is in need will be and has been assisted
The situation in our area has not improved and we are still in need of donations to assist those who are most vulnerable in our area. Port Alfred relies on tourism as well as the local University (Stenden) as well as 43 Air School for the survival of the local economy.
With the Tourism Industry at a standstill and many of our local businesses shut or running at 20% or less capacity the local economy has been severely affected. As a result many people have lost their jobs and are unable to feed their families.
