Today, the first foundations were poured at Phase 6!

SAVF as the new developers at Die Oog, proudly records this significant milestone in our 122-year history.

This is so much more than the foundation of the new SAVF Midcare development. It marks the foundation of a new era of care — an era where we continue to build, with vision, innovation and compassion, for the future of care.

Today, we are not simply pouring concrete… we are laying the foundation for a future of hope, dignity and care.

The next chapter of SAVF at Die Oog has begun.

Vandag vier ons die verjaardag van ’n besondere vrou — ’n ware ikoon van die SAVF - Mevrou Irna Hartzenberg.

As dogter het sy die eerste spore in die SAVF getrap. As eggenote en moeder het sy die verantwoordelikheid van SAVF-president met waardigheid aanvaar. En vandag, as ouma, bou sy steeds voort as Gauteng se provinsiale leier.

Sy is ’n voorbeeld van ’n vrou wat sonder vrees verandering omarm, haar talente met oorgawe as vrywilliger gebruik en deur haar diens diep spore trap — altyd met die groter visie voor oë: om te verseker dat die SAVF se dienslewering vir geslagte wat kom volhoubaar en betekenisvol sal wees.

By die SAVF word sy aangespreek as “Mevrou” — ’n naam wat respek, wysheid en ’n leeftyd van diens verteenwoordig.

Vir die presidente wat ná haar gekom het, is sy veel meer as ’n voorganger. Sy is ’n rots, mentor en moederfiguur — iemand na wie daar geluister word en op wie daar altyd gereken kan word.

Mevrou, mag u verjaardag gevul wees met vreugde, liefde en kosbare oomblikke saam met diegene wat vir u dierbaar is. Mag die nuwe lewensjaar vir u ’n jaar van oorvloedige seën, goeie gesondheid en steeds groter betekenis wees.

Today, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose life reminds us that true leadership is not measured by titles, but by service, compassion and the lives we touch along the way.

For 25 years, Rentia has given her time, knowledge, experience and heart to the SAVF. Through every role she has fulfilled, every community she has served and every person she has encouraged, one thing has remained constant: her unwavering belief in dignity, opportunity and hope for all.

From Provincial Leader for Gauteng to 12 years of dedicated service as First Vice President, her journey is one of commitment, wisdom and leadership rooted in purpose.

But today is about more than positions and achievements. It is about celebrating Rentia the person. A wife, mother, proud grandmother, colleague, friend, volunteer and woman who continues to inspire those around her.

Rentia, may your birthday be filled with the same warmth, kindness and joy that you have shared so generously with others over the years.

• Marketing, networking and fundraising initiatives
• Coordinating commemorative calendar events
