Youth aged 18–29 from Moletjie Ga-Mabitsela gathered at Motana Primary School for the Save the Children Skills to Succeed Training (S2S), hosted by Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre (MRHMC) in partnership with the Department of Social Development (DSD).

This workshop happened after MRHMC was approached by the youth of Ga Mabitsela who are seeking opportunities in education, employment, skills development and entrepreneurship.

The S2S training covered key areas including Job Search Skills, Life Skills, Growth Mindset and Green Mindset.

In a time when jobs are scarce but ideas are plenty, we are equipping young people with the mindset and practical tools to become employable, start their own income-generating projects and lead initiatives in their communities. A green mindset also opens doors to opportunities in agriculture, recycling and sustainable businesses.

As part of our ongoing support, the organization will also assist with registering and mentoring a youth Non-Profit Organization. This will serve as a platform for the youth of Mabitsela to access opportunities and drive development in their community.💯

Young people aged 18–29 from Waschbank Ga-Maraba recently took part in a 2-DAY Save the Children Skills to Succeed Training hosted by Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre.

Over two days participants were trained in LIFE SKILLS, GROWTH MINDSET, GREEN MINDSET and JOB SEARCH SKILLS-the foundation for both personal growth and economic participation.In contemporary South Africa, the gap between education and employment remains wide.

This training matters because it equips youth with the mindset and practical skills to become employable, start income-generating activities and lead small projects in their communities. When our villages have skilled, confident and opportunity-ready youth, the local economy grows. A green mindset also encourages sustainable practices that protect our natural resources, while opening doors to new opportunities in agriculture, recycling and community-based businesses.

Through this partnership with Save the Children SA and the Department of Social Development, we are building a generation of resilient, adaptable and opportunity-ready youth who will drive development in their communities.

The Department of Social Development (DSD) in collaboration with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and Bakone Bakopane Community Development hosted a Life Skills Workshop at Ngakana Secondary School in Ga-Matlala Madietane. The initiative was specifically targeted at Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners with the objective of equipping them with the necessary guidance, values and skills to navigate their academic journey and future aspirations.

During the session, the NYDA facilitated a comprehensive Career Guidance presentation. Learners were introduced to a wide spectrum of career pathways available at both universities and TVET colleges. Furthermore, they were provided with critical information regarding NSFAS funding and other bursary opportunities designed to improve access to tertiary education for deserving students.

A Probation Officer from the DSD also addressed the learners. He emphasized the importance of diligence, discipline and academic excellence. Learners were urged to abstain from substance abuse, remain committed in their studies and strive to perform to the best of their ability in their examinations. The motivation underscored that such commitment is vital in preventing learners from getting involved in criminal activities.

Other stakeholders who were invited are Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre (MRHMC),Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) and Manamela Youth Development.As part of the support interventions,MRHMC has committed to returning to the school to conduct a FREE Online Applications Roadshow for matriculants. This intervention aims to assist learners with tertiary applications ahead of the official closing dates for universities and TVET colleges.

67 MINUTES OF MANDELA DAY!

In celebration of Mandela Day, Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre in partnership with the Department of Social Development (DSD) and Old Mutual dedicated 67 minutes to community service. Our team came together to paint our organization’s office in the beautiful blue that reflects the primary color of our logo and to work in our vegetable garden where we planted new seedlings to support food security.

This meaningful event would not have been possible without the generous donation from Good Samaritans of our community and partners. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to DSD, Old Mutual South Africa , Prospect Plus, Southern African Association of Youth Clubs (SAAYC) , Manamela Youth Development and all our VOLUNTEERS for their donations, time, energy and commitment to making the day a success.

We also give thanks to Blue Skycoatings for their generous donation of an additional 20L paint after we made our purchase. Through these small acts of service, we continue to honor Madiba’s legacy and our mission of reviving hope in our community.

Vibrant young people aged 18–29 from Madinyane and Mandela Village in Ga-Mashashane recently participated in a 2-DAY Save the Children Skills to Succeed Employability Skills Training,facilitated by Maraba Reviving Hope and Multipurpose Centre at Mash Fun Park Madinyane.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in empowering modules designed to enhance both their personal and professional development. These included LIFE SKILLS, GROWTH MINDSET,GREEN MINDSET and JOB SEARCH SKILLS. In addition, the youth benefited from Career Counselling sessions that helped them identify career pathways and opportunities aligned with their aspirations.

The program also included an engaging AI Skills session, equipping participants with valuable insights into emerging technologies and the future world of work. The training brought together motivated young people who are actively seeking opportunities to participate in economic activities and create better futures for themselves and their communities.

We are proud of the enthusiasm, commitment and positive energy displayed by all participants. Together, we are building a generation of resilient, adaptable and opportunity-ready youth.

We were honoured to be invited by the Limpopo Provincial Legislature to take part in the 2026 Youth Parliament at the Limpopo Legislative Chamber in Lebowakgomo.🙌

As a youth-led NPO, this was a powerful platform where young voices came together to shape the future under the theme:

Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre and Save the Children SA’s Skills to Succeed (S2S) programme participated in the Youth Dialogue hosted at the Old Phatlaphadima Building in Ga Mashashane. The event commemorated the legacy of the 1976 Soweto Uprising while addressing the realities facing today’s generation.

The dialogue recognised that although the struggle has evolved, youth continue to experience socio-economic challenges such as high unemployment, poverty, lack of skills, limited access to higher education, the digital divide, and inadequate opportunities for entrepreneurship.

In response to these challenges, our organisation presented its Free Online Tertiary and Bursary Applications Roadshow for out-of-school youth and Grade 12 learners.Save the Children’s S2S facilitators also made a presentation to young people on their Employability Skills Training which includes Life Skills, Growth Mindset, Job Readiness and Green Mindset (eco-literacy). Our organization has partnered with Save the Children SA to implement the Skills to Succeed programme.

Through this partnership, we have connected young people in our area and neighboring areas to education and economic sector opportunities. At the dialogue stakeholders urged youth to be proactive and not wait for government to provide opportunities, as the spirit of June 16 calls for active citizenship to confront today’s challenges.
