On 2 May 2026 Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre conducted Free Online Tertiary Applications for Grade 12 learners at Mmaphuti Secondary School.

This builds on our 28 January 2026 visit where we committed to supporting every Grade 12 learner through applications for Universities, TVET colleges and Bursary/NSFAS funding for 2027.

In previous years we have helped many of Mmaphuti’s top learners secure admission and complete registration, and we continue to monitor their academic progress and well-being campus.

Our visit also coincided with the Bakone People Empowerment Foundation’s Grade 12 programme which motivated matric learners, provided them with tips for the May/June examinations and emphasized the importance of mental health during this critical period. 📚 👨‍💻 💯

Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre honored the invitation to attend Gender-Based Violence Awareness event organised by Mashashane SAPS and Limpopo Chaplaincy Health and Community Care at Sebora village crossing (Usave Mashashane), a known GBV hotspot. The aim of the event was to highlight the detrimental impact of violence and abuse on society, facilitating a collective discussion on the causes, effects and potential solutions to GBV and femicide.

Given the apparent correlation between GBV, youth unemployment, substance abuse, crime, lack of skills and entrepreneurship opportunities, our organisation addressed the attending youth and encouraged them to participate in developmental activities that could enhance their access to economic opportunities and collectively fight the scourge of GBV.

In response to the GBV event, our organisation will host a youth event at Sebora village and empower youth on available opportunities in education, skills development, employment and entrepreneurship. We will assist with CV writing, Life Skills training, Online tertiary and Bursary Applications while creating a platform for efficient economic development in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

The Save the Children Skills to Succeed (S2S) project has yielded remarkable outcomes in the rural villages of Lepotlako and Christinah. A 2-day comprehensive training session in Life Skills and CV Writing, facilitated by Maraba Reviving Hope Multipurpose Centre, has empowered local youth with employability skills and prepared them for the competitive job market.

We are delighted that young people with tertiary qualifications who attended the S2S training have been successfully selected for a Prospectplus Skills Training and Consulting Learnership and other employment opportunities - all thanks to the skills and exposure they gained from this training.

Our organization will also offer complimentary online tertiary and bursary applications to all participants who attended the training session. This initiative seeks to address academic and intellectual poverty and enable youth who are out of school to access tertiary education.

Furthermore, aspiring youth entrepreneurs who attended the training will also be exposed to relevant institutions in the economic sector to assist with training, mentorship, business registration and possible funding opportunities. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the participants for their positive engagement and to the facilitators for delivering impactful content. The training was organized in partnership with Department of Social Development Polokwane Aganang Cluster. 💯
