Ebola: Know the facts

*Ebola Virus Disease* (EVD) is a severe illness with a high risk of death in humans.

*It spreads through* 🦠
• direct contact with infected animals
• the bodily fluids of an infected person
• contaminated objects and surfaces
• the bodies of those who have died from Ebola.

*Symptoms* 🗓️
These may appear within 2 to 21 days after exposure. A person can only spread the virus once symptoms begin.

*Prevention is key* 🧤
• Avoid contact with infected bodily fluids
• Practise good hand hygiene
• Clean and disinfect surfaces
• Seek medical care immediately if symptoms develop

*Take care* 👀
Monitor your health for 21 days if you have travelled to or returned from an area where Ebola is present.
