International Female Ride Day – Limpopo Report (2 May 2026)
On 2 May 2026, Limpopo proudly hosted its edition of International Female Ride Day, celebrating 20 years of women in motorcycling. The event brought together 27 women on 24 motorcycles, supported by a KR Motorcycles vehicle.
The day began at Doppio Zero Restaurant with coffee, muffins, and a safety briefing by Road Captain Debbie Mouton. Riders departed along the scenic R81 to Letaba Junction Lodge (260 km round trip), joined en route by Mac Riders from Tzaneen.
At the lodge, participants enjoyed a sponsored lunch by BMW Motorrad, a professional photoshoot by Helgard de Villiers, and a rafting excursion on the Letaba River courtesy of Blue Pepper Restaurant—complete with crocodile and hippo sightings. The festive atmosphere continued with goody bags, prizes, and a lucky draw supported by numerous sponsors.
Riders came from across the region, including Johannesburg, Mokopane, Dendron, and Polokwane, representing diverse skills and motorcycle brands. The event concluded safely at around 17h00 when all the ladies arrived safely back home, marked by camaraderie, laughter, and a strong sense of achievement.
The 2026 Limpopo International Female Ride Day was a vibrant milestone, reinforcing the unity and passion of women riders.
We look forward to 2027!!
