Meet Charmaine and Michelle Samudzimu. Mushroom Growers at Farm in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe.

The twins left the United Kingdom to venture into in Zimbabwe. Charmaine and Michelle studied Financial Economics in the United Kingdom. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they decided to return home to and continue their degree program online.

While in Zimbabwe, they spent time on their family farm and discovered there was high demand for mushrooms and a low supply, so they decided to venture into farming. They started with Oyster mushrooms and identified a high market demand for Button Mushroom. Today they are feeding the nation and successfully running a profitable Mushroom Growing Business.

An energetic and passionate generation of young farmers is arising in Africa. Siphosihle Maseko is one such farmer.

Siphosihle is a South African farmer based in the Eastern Cape. He farms in a small village in the Keiskammahoek area of the Eastern Cape and grows different vegetables.

However, cabbage farming is currently a key focus area for him and is helping to feed South Africa one cabbage at a time.
