Dear TRUCKERS and Friends
Indecisive driving is a great cause of many accidents where lives are lost, especially at traffic light crossings where a YELLOW (amber) LIGHT is shown to warn drivers of the compulsory STOP signal (RED LIGHT) which will follow within seconds. Therefore called the INDECISION ZONE. According to the NIH National Centre for Biotechnology Information ( based on International studies), yellow signal indications at intersections are well-known to be a contributor to traffic crashes. This study examined drivers' behaviour during yellow signal indications at such “indecision zones”. DRIVERS' DECISION ON STOPPING OR NOT AT A YELLOW SIGNAL INDICATION, is clearly associated with different variables such as general perceptions of what is permissible within the traffic rules (obedience to the Road Act or not), bad discernment of speed travelled, timing and distance, etc. At a signalized intersection, drivers must MAKE A STOP/GO DECISION AT THE ONSET OF THE YELLOW SIGNAL. Incorrect decisions would lead to RED LIGHT RUNNING (RLR) VIOLATIONS OR CRASHES. Furthermore, the ACCELERATIONS OF VEHICLES AFTER THE ONSET OF THE YELLOW SIGNAL are positively related to RLR violations.
According to the K53 driving rules in South Africa: Amber (yellow) light INSTRUCTS STOP IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. You may CONTINUE ONLY if stopping would be dangerous (you are too close to the stop line). THE YELLOW / AMBER PHASE IS NOT A WARNING TO SPEED UP.
The yellow light INSTRUCTS DRIVERS TO PREPARE TO STOP. The fact that irresponsible drivers speed up, at the sight of a yellow light have caused THE UNLAWFUL UNDERSTANDING that such conduct is the “rule of law” which ends fatal in many cases. This, together with the fear that a reckless driver could “rear end” crash into you when stopping safely, as the law requires at the sight of such a yellow light, contributes to INDECISIVE DRIVING. Therefore, all drivers need to be aware of the traffic rules and be alert for the possible actions of fellow road users, while indicating early your own conduct when approaching a yellow/amberyellow / amber light at a traffic intersection.
In Scripture, 1 Kings 18:21, we see how the prophet Elijah asks the people how long they will limp between two different opinions, telling them to choose God or Baal. In Matthew 6:24 Jesus states that no one can serve two masters without loving one and hating the other. Either being obedient to the Law or acting criminally, where you could lose your life or cause the loss of other road users’ lives. Please join hands with SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) and make a decision in obedience, respecting the Road Act where we can be safe and preserve the lives of all around us. Make sure that you know how to conduct your driving and BE SURE OF YOUR ROUTE, so that it shall enable us to arrive alive at our destinations. Please pray for your fellow road users as you travel, that God, our Heavenly Father, shall protect them and guide them by His Grace in Jesus Christ.

DRIVERS' DECISION ON STOPPING OR NOT AT A YELLOW SIGNAL INDICATION is clearly associated with different variables such as general perceptions of what is permissible in driving or the knowledge of, or application of, traffic rules (obedience to the Road Act or not), poor roadworthiness of the vehicle driven, bad discernment of speed travelled, timing and distance, etc.

Dear TRUCKERS and Friends
It touches a person’s heart when you observe that someone has reached the end of their own abilities to address their needs, be it emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc. When you and I fall into a difficult situation or where we may need help, it could be devastating, depending on our own attitude. Are you willing to admit failure and seek help, crucifying our pride, or do we persist in stubbornness? We can sit in our corner and sulk, or we could reach out, seeking and calling for help if would be serious about changing our situation. Obviously, we need to accept a hand stretched out to us and not predict how assistance should be presented. If serious in our attempts to change our situation, we would evaluate all possibilities and opportunities at hand. Matthew 7: 7 & 8 in Scripture states that when we ASK WE SHALL RECEIVE, WHEN WE SEEK WE SHALL FIND, WHEN WE KNOCK IT SHALL BE OPENED. It is clear in Scripture that Jesus Christ did not attend to people who were not seeking help. Those who made an effort to get help in whatever way received help, assistance, and healing. The blind man Bartimaeus in Mark 10:47 CRIED OUT to Jesus. In Luke 17:13, 10 men suffering from disease (Leprosy) SHOUTED OUT for Jesus to show mercy upon them. When Hezekiah and his people were threatened by the enemy in war, according to 2 Kings 19:14-15, he cried out to God for His intervention. Hagar in Genesis 16:13-14 & 21:15-19 was faced with rejection and cast out of her master’s household, where she served while being deceived and cried out to God for her and her child, fearing death. In all these cases and many more different circumstances and situations, GOD, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, HAS ANSWERED AND PROVIDED AN OUTCOME WITH GUIDANCE AND RELIEF, which benefited those who CALLED AND CRIED OUT TO HIM to His glory. More so, where Nicodemus (leader and senior official) wanted to know how he could receive God’s grace and salvation, while Paul states in Romans 10:13 “Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.” While James 5:13 to 15 states that if any among you are in trouble? They should pray. Are any among you happy? They should sing praises. 14 Are any among you sick? They should send for the church elders, who will pray for them and rub olive oil on them in the name of the Lord. 15This prayer made in faith will HEAL THE SICK (Physical and Spiritual); the Lord will RESTORE THEM TO HEALTH, and the SINS THEY HAVE COMMITTED WILL BE FORGIVEN. Take hands with SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) in this effort to share GOOD NEWS as Romans 10:14 states the challenge: “But how can they CALL TO HIM FOR HELP if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed?” Therefore, we need to witness his work in our lives. So decide if you are serious about change in your life for the better on every level in submission to God through His son Jesus Christ. When you have reached the end of yourself and your own strength, God can add LIFE to you. EVERLASTING LIFE

Dear TRUCKERS and Friends
Are you regarded as the “salt of the earth, and why? The following message was posted a few days ago, which is translated here in order to share a wonderful “testimonial” written across years in the hearts of people. This is the reflection of the owner of “Henry’s Shoe and Bag Repair Shop”, who, in the words of the witness, CROSSED THE GREAT RIVER, where this shop was now closed after 66 years. Here, Uncle Henry, then a 13-year-old boy, came looking for a job at Mr Goosen’s shoe repair shop in 1953 to earn a living for his struggling family. He started with 1 British Pound (ZAR 735) /week, while in time Henry learnt the trade as a shoemaker across the next 23 years, where he, after the owner was hospitalised in 1976, purchased the shop in difficult years with the help of a local attorney. Here, Henry served from Monday mornings to Saturday afternoons in the hope that his beloved son would succeed him in the years to come. This was derailed when his son sadly passed away untimely at a young age, while Uncle Henry could sponsor the funding for his other children’s studies. Shoes or bags repaired by Uncle Henry never returned due to “poor workmanship”. Many people witness Uncle Henry’s friendly smile and wise conversations. He was friends with people from all walks of life and/or different cultures, where appreciation for his service has been a general comment. On 19 August 2026, he would have been 86 yrs old, but he ended his earthly life while we know that a person does not need to be rich or famous or learned to leave tracks of kindness and dearness in the hearts of their fellow men or women. Uncle Henry has left such tracks in the lives of many of his customers over the years. One comment on his life stated that he and his wife presented that they seemed like “salt of the earth” people, reflecting love and true concern.
In Scripture, Mark 9:49 says, “Everyone will be purified by fire as a sacrifice is purified by salt. V50 “Salt is good; but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? (it would be tasteless) Have the salt of friendship among yourselves, and live in peace with one another.” As seen with Uncle Henry’s reflection, he was the “salt” in many people’s lives and an example where we all could learn dear lessons. More so when we walk in the counsel of God as believers. Please join SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) in prayer that God, our Heavenly Father, will guide us in submission to His perfect will, where we shall be the SALT which has not lost its saltiness, making a Scriptural and Godly difference in the world where we “walk and talk”, where God shall receive the honour and glory. May Uncle Henry’s family experience God’s love and comfort in their time of mourning.

Dear Truckers and Friends
What does it imply when testimony is given under oath in a judicial court of LAW? When an oath is taken and accepted to tell the truth, as concluded with the words: “So help me God” (when giving testimony), it implies that the witness makes a solemn, legally binding promise to tell the truth factually. This formal pledge serves to protect the integrity of the judicial process, and when such a witness is lying under oath transitions the testimony from a standard false statement into the criminal offense of perjury, where intentionally the truth is covered, set aside to benefit a person or a cause. In fact, by this statement before testimony, it implied that such a person would accept divine judgment if they lied or broke their word.
When an offense against the Road Act is committed as reflected in the picture, which seems to have become common conduct for reckless truck drivers, the question arises whether they knew that their actions were against the Road Act or not. If they claim not to be sure, then the question arises where they obtained their respective Driver’s Licence and whether it is legal.
Passing vehicles on a single or double barrier line is regarded as a serious prohibition and addressed in all K53 driving tests to qualify prospective drivers if passed. This offense, as conducted by any driver, is life-threatening and can end up in court, where he or she has to provide testimony, would be required to swear or confirm that it shall reflect the truth, where in most cases would be under oath as preferred: (…“So help me God”)
Disregarding the seriousness hereof or ignoring the Road Act and trying to justify such malpractice (more so when driving official government vehicles) shall cost you dearly and call for prosecution and judgment. Testimony under oath calls upon God’s judgement where not in truth.
In Scripture, Proverbs 26:16, we see things that God hates, e.g.: “…a lying tongue, hands that kill innocent people, a mind that thinks up wicked plans,
feet that hurry off to do evil, a witness who tells one lie after another, etc.
Therefore, PLEASE BE AWARE AS IT SHALL COST YOU DEARLY FOR OVERSTEPPING THIS BOUNDARY IN NOT ABIDING BY THE ROAD ACT, which would lead to the possible further temptation of lying under oath in an attempt to justify your actions.
Join hands with SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) and repent of wrongful conduct/sin on a daily basis and acquire the forgiveness of God our Heavenly Father, while being transformed from your sinful ways by His Grace through Christ Jesus. We pray for your responsible conduct en route and safe arrival at home with your loved ones. Please consider other drivers on the road and respect the lives of those around you.

Dear Friends and TRUCKERS
A "Zero Accidents" vision, as maintained by Volvo Trucks, drives advanced, standard safety features, including PEDESTRIAN/CYCLIST DETECTION, COLLISION WARNINGS WITH EMERGENCY BRAKING, and DRIVER FATIGUE MONITORING. Key Volvo Truck Safety Features, such as upgraded Driver Alert Support, which uses cameras to MONITOR FOR FATIGUE OR DISTRACTION, while LANE KEEPING SUPPORT and INTELLIGENT SPEED ASSIST (via speed sign recognition) keep the driver informed. The "STRETCH BRAKE", which helps to PREVENT JACK-KNIFING WHEN DRIVING DOWNHILL on slippery surfaces are a much valued asset in this regard. It is accepted that all these features are developed with wisdom based on data/statistics and valuable information gathered over a time span.
As confirmation of such a vision, Scripture guides us in Proverbs 4 and verses 30 to 35, where WISDOM is reflected as a valuable source available to an Architect or Director of a project, which would be empowered by it, as a “guarantee” to joy and happiness when his work (project) is evaluated during operation. Many Truck Drivers can witness about the “safety features” described above, which complement their calling and provide many reasons for thankfulness in this regard.
Remember that "THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM" (Proverbs 9:10) means that true wisdom starts with a deep, reverent awe and respect for God, recognizing His holiness, authority, and sovereignty. Seeking and applying WISDOM on a continued basis would benefit and bring forth “life”.
Join hands with SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) and pray for God, our Heavenly Father’s blessing upon the visionary and managing
teams of all road freight truck (transport) manufacturers who are truly dedicated and focused on the safety of their products roaming the globe via distribution networks across the world. May we all ACT IN WISDOM and with guidance as we see in Scripture, on our daily walk, as it shall be to the benefit of those who adhere to it.

Most of us have heard the words “If you can’t beat them, join them”. A terrible decision, applicable in most cases, where there may be a contest or battle between good and evil, and in many instances, it may seem as if the “bad” is succeeding. Just what the deceiver and worker of iniquity in our lives would like us to do, BUT is this contrary to what the Word of God says when we walk by faith and not by sight. Our walk and talk would reflect our choice in life as well as the company we seek and whose counsel we accept. We all know that the “fruit” of our hearts and minds shall reveal our choice. Psalm 1 teaches us that we should NOT walk and live in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], NOR stand [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, NOR sit down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. One who adheres to God’s Word shall be BLESSED (Happy, fortunate, prosperous, etc.) walking in faith. When we counteract and delight ourselves in the precepts and instructions of God’s Word by day and night, we shall have peace surpassing all understanding, according to Philippians 4:6+7, NOT FALLING INTO ANXIETY. Then we find that God our heavenly Father declares in Ps. 1:3 that we shall BE LIKE A TREE FIRMLY PLANTED BY THE STREAMS OF WATER, READY TO BRING FORTH ITS FRUIT in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and EVERYTHING HE DOES SHALL PROSPER. Not so for the wicked [the mockers whom you could “join” in desperation, living without God] according to verse 4. They are like the chaff [worthless, dead, without substance] which the wind drives away, due to their wickedness, disobedience, and living without God where you could find yourself [not justified] in the final judgment, where the righteous [those who are upright and in right standing with God] shall be saved in Christ Jesus, the Son of God. Verse 6 states that the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God's will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought).
Let us all take hands with SATM (Southern Africa Truckers Ministry) and declare our faith and trust in God, knowing that we are firmly planted like a tree by streams of LIVING WATER provided in Christ (John 7:38+39) where we shall produce HIS FRUIT according to Galatians 5:22 (Eg. love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence)
