URGENT MEDICAL ASSISTANCE REQUEST!!!

Posting on behalf of a 37yrs old gentleman from Schoonoord, currently working in Kriel. He has given consent for us to share his case publicly.

Since 2020, he has been managing a large growth on his upper back that has been increasing in size. He was initially treated at Jane Furse Hospital, but had to transfer to Witbank Hospital after relocating for work. Surgery has been repeatedly delayed at both facilities due to bed availability. The condition is now causing significant discomfort and requires urgent surgical intervention.

If you know of any hospital, surgeon, or service that can assist, or can help escalate this case, please DM us for his full details. We will connect you directly with him.

JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED FOR THE LEARNER OF GA-MAKGOBA - REST IN PEACE!

We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the reported murder of a Grade 12 learner in Ga-Makgoba Village on 10 June 2026, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family, her school, and the entire Sebayeng community. May she rest in peace. A young life with so much ahead of her has been cut short.

We acknowledge the swift response by the South African Police Service in Sebayeng and the arrest of the suspect. We expect the courts to impose a harsh sentence on this perpetrator. He engaged in an adult relationship with a minor and ended up stealing her life. A crime of this nature deserves no sympathy and must be met with the full weight of the law.

This tragedy highlights a truth we must say clearly, children should not be in romantic relationships. A Grade 12 learner is still a child, and school should be a place of learning and safety, not a place where learners are exposed to the risks that come with adult relationships. When minors are in relationships with older partners, the imbalance of power creates a high risk of abuse and violence.

We call on parents, schools, and communities to protect our children by speaking openly about this, by creating safe spaces where learners can speak up, and by rejecting the normalization of relationships that put children at risk. No girl should fear for her life in her own relationship.

To the young women and girls in Limpopo, your life matters and your voice matters. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, please reach out to SAPS on 10111 or the GBV Command Centre on 0800 428 428.

Lentswe Laka Foundation remains committed to working with communities to prevent gender-based violence and to protect the safety and dignity of every child.

ALLEGED MURDERER MAGOGO MODIBA APPEARED IN COURT 05 JUNE 2026– NO BAIL FOR GBV PERPETRATORS!

Our team attended the court proceedings involving alleged murderer Magogo Modiba on Friday, 05 June 2026, at the Mankweng Magistrate's Court. The matter was before the court for a possible bail application by the accused, who is charged in connection with the murder of Ms. Mary Boipelo Mosoma Tema.

After proceedings, the matter was postponed to 11 June 2026 for further consideration. Mr. Modiba remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
As Lentswe Laka Foundation, we remain steadfast in our position that perpetrators accused of gender-based violence and femicide should not be granted bail where there is a risk to justice, witnesses, families, and the broader community. South Africa continues to face an alarming crisis of violence against women and children, and the justice system must send a strong message that such crimes will not be tolerated.

We continue to stand in solidarity with the Tema family as they seek justice for their loved one. We encourage community members, civil society organisations, and all stakeholders committed to ending gender-based violence to continue supporting the family and monitoring this matter.

Justice delayed is justice denied. We will continue to follow the case closely and provide updates as the matter progresses.
