The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of
Infrastructure is inviting suitably qualified applicants residing
in the Garden Route to apply for Training opportunities
in the Construction Sector. The Training program entails:
Undergoing theoretical and practical training at a public or
private TVET college; working on a building site; applying
health and safety regulations; maintaining work areas; and
undertaking administrative tasks.
HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER NQF L4 (Ref. HSOGR)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Between 18 and 34 years old
• Must be SA citizen
• Resident of the Garden Route
• Must be unemployed
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
• Health and Safety Officer: NQF L3/Grade 11 /NCV L3
RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in formal employment and/or EPWP work-
based programme which entails any of the following:

– Experience in the advertised trade
– facility maintenance
– roadworks
– cleaning environment (including sweeping of the streets,
washing of bins, cleaning/of the sites etc)
– waste management
– renewable energy (solar, wind energy)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Applicants must enjoy good health and be willing to
undergo a medical and substance use examination.
• Successful applicants must be physically fit to work on
a construction site and at heights as part of the training

programme.
• Successful applicants must be willing to travel and work at
various building sites across the Western Cape.
• Successful applicants will be required to sign a 12-month
Training Agreement.
STIPEND: R3 000 per month for the duration of the
Training Agreement.
ALLOWANCE: R2 000 per month for the duration of the
Training Agreement.
• Applicants can use facilities at a local Library, Thusong
Centre, E-Centre, Youth Café, Internet Café or personal
smartphones to register on the SA Youth.Mobi platform.
• Shortlisted candidates will be requested to upload certified
copies of their ID and highest education certificate on the
SAYouth.Mobi site when requested by the Department of
Infrastructure.

Programme in Partnership with Library Business Corners)
KwaNokuthula- Western Cape Government eCentre
Remuneration: R 92,580 per annum on a 2yr contract
Requirements:
• Grade 12.
• More than 6 months experience in an ICT e-centre or similar venue
• Must have clean criminal record
Competencies:
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Sound organizing and planning skills.

• Computer proficiency & Training Facilitation Skills.
Key Performance Areas:
• Management of the day-to-day training operations of the centre
• Present reports on the training activities, usage, and outcomes of the centre
• Oversee training provision and provide information, assistance, and advice to the
community.
• Assist with technical support in the centre.
• Provide support for community development projects.
