42KM. A mother and son. One purpose: to carry hope further. 💛

Meet Nate and Liesl, who are taking on the 42km challenge this November in support of Hope Nation.

But what inspires someone to take on 42 kilometres? And what makes Liesl decide to take on the challenge alongside her son?

We sat down with Nate and Liesl to hear the heart behind their journey, why they chose to say yes, and what it means to run for something bigger than themselves.

Because this is about more than the kilometres. It’s about community, generosity, and bringing hope to the children, families and communities Hope Nation serves.

Never in our wildest planning for 2026 did we imagine that one person’s big dream would become a shared goal for Hope Nation 💛

But that’s the power of hope! It spreads. It inspires. It carries people forward.

From Tarisai’s Comrades Marathon journey, to the incredible people who came on board through Run for Hope, to Nate and Liesl picking up the baton, we’ve seen this dream grow into something bigger than any one person.

And we’re halfway there!

Now we have a few weeks left to raise the remaining 50% and turn this dream into a reality for the communities Hope Nation serves through education, healthcare and opportunity 😊

Hope is contagious ❤️‍🔥

It started with Tarisai, who took on the Comrades Marathon to raise funds for Hope Nation. Then YOU took it further at Run for Hope. And now Nate + Liesel are taking on 42km of their own hopechallenge_marathon to keep the hope moving 😭

The goal? Still R50 000 for Hope Nation.

This is the next chapter of the run 🙌🏽
