Ashley Village is a Self-help Centre and a residential facility for 18 quadriplegics and paraplegics. It has been capacitating and developing disabled members through an informal peer counselling, ad hoc interaction, and advisory services. It
is under such difficult circumstances that quadriplegics and paraplegics become a burden to those around as opposed to useful positive membe
rs of society in an independent type atmosphere, as we are. We are not State Funded at the moment and thus do all our own fund-raising. In the current economic climate, we are finding it very difficult to keep our facility running; but we have no option but to go on as most of us have nowhere else to go. What we desperately need now is to establish a sustainable income that will see us through on a month to month basis. We are in desperate need to feed (10) residents and (04) staff members, as well as pay utilities. Your contribution will certainly alleviate the pressure on our dwindling cash-flow. Your assistance in our any of our projects would be hugely appreciated, as it affects the lives of not only those disabled people living here but the families of those who have them, as well as our care-giving staff and their families. Ashley Village Community Development Centre is a registered NPO. We are also registered as a Public Benefit Organization with SARS and authorized to issue 18A Certificates for all donations.
