🌟 Partner Spotlight! 📚

Reading for Hope has officially kicked off Term 3 at Thembani Primary and Moshesh Primary in Langa! 🎉

Our reading sessions at E.A. Janari Primary in Bonteheuwel and Silverlea Primary in Athlone will resume next week (week ending 7 August 2026).

A huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers who faithfully give of their time, energy, and hearts to encourage a love of reading in every child. Your commitment is making a lasting difference, one child at a time. ❤️📖

💙 Thank You for Bringing Hope

Thank you to everyone who gave, volunteered, and supported our Refugee Support appeal.

Because of your generosity, we were able to partner with the Respond Network to provide practical support to people awaiting processing at the Department of Home Affairs in Epping. Together, we were able to help meet immediate needs with food and essential care items, offering both practical relief and a reminder that they are seen and valued.

Every gift, no matter the size, became part of a much bigger story of compassion and hope.

Thank you for standing with some of the most vulnerable people in our city. We are truly grateful for your partnership.

❤️ Warm Hearts, Warm Heads!

Every year, Reading for Hope distributes hand-knitted beanies to the Grade 1 learners at EA Janari Primary in Bonteheuwel, helping to ensure that no child has to face the winter cold without a warm beanie.

This year was even more special, as we were delighted to include the Grade Zero class in the distribution too!

A huge thank you to Rose Rae, who coordinated the beanie knitting project with such dedication, and to everyone who made this initiative possible - those who donated financially, contributed wool, and lovingly knitted each beanie, and prayed. Your generosity and kindness have made a real difference.

There were smiles all around as Rose, Jenny, and Dan handed out the beanies. Seeing the joy on the children's faces reminded us that even a simple gift can bring warmth, comfort, and hope.

Thank you for helping us wrap our learners in love this winter. Together, we continue to show that a caring community can make a lasting difference - one beanie, one smile, and one child at a time.

How to help starting Mon, 29 June: 🥪 Volunteer: Sandwich making (9–11am at St. Stephen’s) or serving lunch (12:30pm at Epping Home Affairs).
🍞 In-Kind: Drop off food at St. Stephen’s Church or hygiene essentials at Epping Fire Station.
