In a wonderful partnership with the Dept of Recreation and Parks, we have been offered 20 indigenous trees to plant along the Elsieskraal River canal, Pinelands. We are putting up these trees for adoption.

To “adopt a tree” you will need to contribute to the costs of planting & caring for the tree. The R450 covers the labour, fertiliser, compost, stake and tree protector; as well as the cost of watering the tree for 3 years.

Your tree will receive a tree-plaque for which you can choose the wording, e.g. it may be a family tree or in memory of a loved one.

The planting day is planned for Friday 22 August 2025. Unlike our previous planting days, this is not a community event. We currently work with a small but strong team from NETwork (an NGO that gives work opportunities to unemployed people) to dig the holes, wheelbarrow the trees to the holes, and plant them. We will inform each adopter as to exactly where their tree has been planted.
