At the Ixopo Recovery House, growth isn’t only happening inside the house — it’s happening in the garden too. The veggie garden continues to develop, giving the men an opportunity to work with their hands, learn responsibility, and see the reward of steady commitment.

Recently, the house also said farewell to two men who completed their six-month stay. It was a special moment — marking not just time served, but hard work, perseverance, and the courage to start again.

Recovery is not easy. It takes discipline, support, faith, and community. We are grateful for every step forward and every life choosing a new path.

Please keep the Recovery House in your prayers as new seeds are planted — both in the soil and in hearts.

Behind every One Life Church project is a story — often quiet, often unseen, but deeply meaningful.

If you’re involved in something that’s making a difference in your community, we’d love to hear about it. Your story could inspire someone else to step out.

As the year unfolds, it’s a good time to ask:
Where is God nudging me to get involved?

It may be through time, skills, prayer, or support. Whatever it looks like, obedience always makes room for God to move.

On Saturday, 7 February 2026, the One Life East team partnered with Rise Against Hunger for a powerful outreach that turned teamwork into practical care.

Together, volunteers packed 43 200 food parcels, each one carefully prepared with lentils, soya chunks, and rice. Every packet represents nourishment, dignity, and hope for families who need it most.

Days like this remind us what’s possible when the church shows up with willing hands and united hearts. Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy — this is faith lived out in action.

We serve because Jesus first served us.
We give because He gave everything.

Every meal, every visit, every act of care points back to Him. This is not just charity — it’s discipleship lived out.

Some of the most powerful work happening through One Life Foundation starts small — one person noticing a need and choosing to respond.

If God has placed something on your heart this year, don’t wait for it to feel “big enough”. Let us know. We’d love to walk the journey with you.

Across our sites, we’re seeing how much difference presence makes. Whether it’s feeding children after school, walking with someone in recovery, or supporting families through hard seasons — showing up matters.

Ministry doesn’t always look big. Often, it looks faithful.

As the year gets underway, we’re reminded that the work God calls us to doesn’t pause after the holidays. It continues in ordinary moments — meals prepared, prayers prayed, hands serving.

This year, we want to keep walking closely with our communities, responding to real needs with compassion and faith. Thank you for being part of a church that shows up.

One Life Foundation isn’t just a single location. It’s a growing network of sites across South Africa — and beyond — each rooted in a local church and deeply connected to its community.

Every site looks a little different.

Some focus on feeding and healthcare.

Others on recovery, skills development, or reaching young people.

But they all carry the same heart: bringing hope and real change through practical care and the love of Jesus.

From busy cities to rural communities, lives are being touched where it matters most — because people are choosing to serve right where they are.

At the Thina Siza project in Notties, 42 primary school children are fed three times a week — a steady, reliable meal that makes a real difference in their day.

This week was extra special. Thanks to a generous donation of eggs from Keystone Hatchery, the children enjoyed scrambled eggs with their meals — simple, nourishing food that filled bellies and brought smiles.

Moments like these remind us of the power of generosity. When people give what they have, children are fed, dignity is protected, and hope is strengthened.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this project in prayer, giving, and encouragement. Together, we keep showing up.

At the Recovery House in Ixopo, change doesn’t happen overnight — it happens one day at a time. This is a place where men are given the space, structure, and support they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

Through routine, accountability, and faith, residents are learning to face challenges, take responsibility, and grow into the people God has created them to be. There are hard days, but there are also moments of breakthrough, healing, and renewed hope.

This work is made possible through committed leadership, ongoing support from the church, and prayer covering every step of the journey. Please continue to keep the men, the house manager, and his family in your prayers as this important work continues.
Restoration is possible. Hope is real. And lives are being changed in Ixopo.
