MAFAKATINI COMMUNITY PRAYER SERVICE – WARD 9

On 15 October 2026, the Mafakatini community gathered at Ngcedomhlophe Hall for a Community Prayer Service hosted by Induna Mrs M. Mchunu.

The service brought together community members, pastors, church leaders and Ward 9 political candidates representing different political parties, united in prayer for peaceful elections on 4 November 2026, community safety, peace, unity, and an end to violence against women.

Guided by 2 Chronicles 7:14, the gathering reminded us of the power of prayer and the importance of seeking God's guidance for the healing of our nation.

Despite political differences, the community stood together in faith, demonstrating that peace and the wellbeing of our people must come first.

CO-OPERATIVE BANKING AWARENESS & INFORMATION-SHARING EVENT

Mpumuza Traditional Authority is pleased to report on the successful Co-operative Banking Awareness and Information-Sharing Event held today, 12 October 2026, in KwaMpumuza, Pietermaritzburg.

The event, organised through a partnership between the SACOBA / NSCB / SEDFA Cooperative Banking Promotion and Advancement Unit and the KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders, aimed to raise awareness about co-operative banking, financial inclusion and economic empowerment.

The programme focused on opportunities for unemployed graduates and professionals, including understanding co-operative financial institutions, accessing support, and learning about the processes of establishing and registering a co-operative financial institution.

The event was attended by uMntwana Omkhulu, Inkosi KS Zondi, and Inkosi Shinga, demonstrating the importance of traditional leadership in supporting initiatives that promote community development and economic participation.

Mpumuza Traditional Authority appreciates the collaboration between the organisers and traditional leadership in bringing valuable information and opportunities closer to the community.

Izolo ntambama, mhla ziyi-11 kuMfumfu 2026, esigodini sakwaMncane, esingaphansi kobuholi beNkosi KS Zondi, uMntwana Omkhulu, kube nomhlangano omkhulu womphakathi. Lo kube ngumhlangano wokuqala omkhulu selokhu kwadlula emhlabeni Induna Ntombela. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Umhlangano ubuhanjelwe yiNkosi uqobo, kanti inhloso yawo enkulu kube ukwethulwa kwemisebenzi eyenziwa ukhandlu yesiNduna kanye nezinhlelo zentuthuko ezihloselwe ukuthuthukisa isizwe sakwaMpumuza.

UMntwana Omkhulu, iNkosi KS Zondi, udlulise inkulumo ebanzi echaza indlela asebenza ngayo, umbono wakhe ngobuholi kanye nezifiso zakhe zokubona isizwe sakwaMpumuza sithuthuka, sibumbene futhi sibambisana ekwakheni ikusasa elingcono.

Enye yezinto ezibalulekile obekuxoxwe ngazo kube wuhlelo lokukhethwa kweNduna entsha yesigodi sakwaMncane. Umphakathi unikezwe ithuba lokuphakamisa amagama abantu ababona befanele ukuthatha lo msebenzi wobuholi. Kuphakanyiswe amagama abantu abayishumi, kwathi oyedwa wahoxa.

Abaphakanyisiwe bacelwe ukuba bahambise ama-CV kanye nezincwadi ezichaza kabanzi izizathu ezenza bazibone befanele ukuqokwa kulesi sikhundla. Umphakathi uphinde wanikezwa inombolo yokuxhumana abazothumela kuyo izincomo zabo, bephakamisa amagama abantu abababona befanele ukuhola isigodi.

Lo mhlangano ube yimpumelelo enkulu, ukhombisa ukubaluleka kokubonisana, ukubamba iqhaza komphakathi kanye nokusebenzisana phakathi kobuholi bendabuko nomphakathi ekwakheni isizwe esithuthukayo.

Mpumuza Traditional Authority ibonga bonke abebe yingxenye yalo mhlangano ngokuzibandakanya, imibono yabo kanye nokuzimisela kwabo ekuthuthukiseni isigodi sakwaMncane nesizwe sakwaMpumuza sonkana.

Ubuholi obubambisanayo, umphakathi obambe iqhaza, nentuthuko yesizwe.

MPUMUZA TRADITIONAL AUTHORITY JOINS THE PROVINCIAL MATRIC 2026 MOTIVATION CAMPAIGN

📚🎓 “Isikole Ngaphansi KweNkosi” 🎓📚

Mpumuza Traditional Authority led by INkosi KS Zondi proudly joined the provincial initiative held yesterday, 9 October 2026, aimed at encouraging and motivating the 2026 Matric learners as they prepare to begin their final examinations next week.

Under the theme “Ubukhosi Emfundweni,” schools within Mpumuza participated in this important initiative, demonstrating the commitment of traditional leadership and the broader community to supporting education and the success of our learners.

The activity brought together learners, School Governing Bodies (SGBs), educators, parents, invigilators and other stakeholders, united by one common goal: to encourage our Matric Class of 2026 to remain focused, confident and determined as they approach this important milestone.

Mpumuza Traditional Authority recognises that education is a shared responsibility. The involvement of traditional leadership in educational initiatives reinforces the importance of cooperation between schools, families, communities and the institution of Ubukhosi in building a brighter future for our children.

To the Matric Class of 2026, we wish you strength, wisdom, courage and success in your final examinations. Believe in yourselves, trust in your preparation, manage your time wisely and give your best in every paper. Your hard work today can open doors to greater opportunities tomorrow.
