MKHONDO ECD LEADER

Busisiwe Vilakazi, the founder of the Zama Zama Educare Center in Mabola, one of the leaders of the Mkhondo ECD Forum, had the opportunity to engage us in a meaningful conversation.

Busisiwe talked about the necessity of our municipal and governmental officials having eyes and ears in our community so they can understand what is actually required in terms of structure, resources, and even leadership.

MKHONDO ECD FORUM ASSISTS A NEW ECD WITH THE HELP OF ASIBAMBISANE

We recently spent time with Busisiwe Vilakazi, one of the leaders of the Mkhondo ECD Forum from the Mabola Zama Zama Edu-care center. She took us to the Blessings Day Care Center, a new ECD in Kwangema headed by Lungile Mathebula.

We were so pleased to see the Mkhondo ECD Forum assisting new ECDs in their communities. Asibambisane continues to work closely with the ECD Forum, which is why we also delivered the StartWell Foods Cereal Bucket to the Blessings Day Care Center so that they can also get a head start on providing a healthy breakfast to children who attend the center.

WORLD WETLANDS DAY -

A clean, safe, and attractive environment is one of Asibambisane's primary goals. On this day, we mark World Wetlands Day, which aims to increase public awareness of the critical function that wetlands play for both people and the environment.

Wetlands purify our water by trapping sediments and removing pollutants.

Wetlands also:
- store our water to ensure supply during dry periods,
- can prevent floods
- help to control erosion
- provide shelter for juvenile fish
- provide homes for animals and plants
- and so much more.

So, as part of caring for our community, we encourage you to not only observe this day, but to make it a personal mission to preserve wetlands, which is one of the many ways we can all help to enrich and protect our environment and communities.
