The township economy contributes to about 19.5% of South Africa's total employment. The informal sector alone employs around 3 million people.
80% of Township economic businesses are not registered and are owned by foreign nationals, 12 Percent is South African based and unregistered.. Only 8% of young South Africans are registered and considered entrepreneurs.
We must involve ourselves more and take back our Township Economy.
