I don’t remember succession planning being a topic in conversations we have as women. Even growing up, succession was a conversation between fathers and their sons.

Join us on the 29 August 2026 Network Cafe. A dialogue with a Family Business Consultant. Let’s come and talk succession. Both working and business women are welcome. We are not leaving out the stay at home mommies. I started having conversations with My Humans whilst I was a stay at home mom. They were still babies and today it’s easier to have these conversations with them.

Life is a journey of self discovery. A blank canvas you have the privilege to own. For years you’ve are given the opportunity to make it your own and for years you fight with your inner self to paint this canvas like everyone else’s. Isn’t it weird how we want to be like everyone, trend, influence and be known, but we actually never want to be ourselves.

Little do we know that it’s in the darkness where we are formed. It’s through the furnace where we are purified. The pain is unbearable until you see the light. I didn’t abandon Puo Phaa Mosadi but I had to take time off to lick my wounds. I needed to take time off to re-member self.

In 2022 I decided to leave the comfort that I called home to start as a business woman. For someone who’s had the privilege to be a stay at home to now having to wake up at four show up everyday even on days when you wish you could sleep your troubles away. When things were literally falling apart and the centre wasn’t holding at all. Being a stay at home mom is a full time job that drains you, but being a business woman without start up capital and cash flow is another mind f**k (excuse my French). I have a lot of respect for entrepreneurs. I am a vegetable farmer and the experience has been nothing but humbling. Farming has taught me that you can have it all today and literally loose it all tomorrow. It has taught me to not be afraid to fail and fail until you can’t fail anymore. I have lost count of how many times I’ve started over. 4 years down the line I’m still learning and still starting over.

It is also the season for us at Puo Phaa Mosadi to come back. We are not stronger or better but we are different from who were yesterday. We are a bit wiser from the lessons our experiences taught us. And we strongly believe that by sharing our experiences we will learn a lot from each other.

I have learned that it’s important to take time off to heal when it’s needed. Even though we never stop working on ourselves, but I needed to take time off to die from the old self and be born again like a phoenix. Sometimes we need stillness and quietness to rediscover ourselves. It was scary at first. I was scared of loosing Puo Phaa Mosadi. I was scared that business wouldn’t be successful. I wanted to be in control. Predict the outcome and have it just the way I expected, but life had a better plan.

Now I’m no longer fearful. I have gained confidence on myself as a business woman. I am surrounded by so much support and I don’t take it for granted. It’s still challenging and I’ve had to ask so many why me questions. Now I’m grateful to God for my life. I am a bit wiser and most importantly I am at peace.

We come with a a dialogue on the 29 August 2026. It will be a dialogue on succession planning.
