🐠 Theme of the Week: Fish and Creatures Under the Sea 🐙🪸

This week, our learners dived into the fascinating world beneath the waves! 🌊🐟 We explored the wonderful variety of fish and sea creatures that live in our oceans, discovering the colourful and exciting underwater world around us.

🎨 Under the Sea Adventures

Our theme gave us the opportunity to learn about the different creatures that call the ocean home. From colourful fish to fascinating sea animals, there is always something new to discover beneath the surface! 🐬🐢

☀️ Beating the Heat, Frangipani Style! 💦

With the Phalaborwa heat making its presence felt, we decided there was only one sensible thing to do: head for the swimming pool! 🏊‍♀️😎

The children enjoyed some refreshing splashes and fun in the water while keeping cool. After all, what better way to beat the heat than with a little swimming and plenty of smiles? 💦😂

It was another week of learning, exploring and making happy memories together at Frangipani. Whether discovering life under the sea or splashing around in the pool, our learners remind us that learning can be fun in so many different ways! 💛🌊

It has been a quiet week at Frangipani as we settle back into our school routine. We are especially happy to be back at school and to have our transport services up and running again! We look forward to the weeks ahead, filled with learning, growth and special moments together.

🌸 Theme of the Week: Celebrating Spring and Ready-Made Food 🍽️

This week at Frangipani was filled with colour, creativity and some delicious fun as we celebrated Spring while also learning about ready-made food. 🌼💛

🌷 Celebrating Spring
Spring is a wonderful time of new beginnings, colour and growth, and we enjoyed bringing some of that cheerful spirit into our classroom. 🌸🌿

👩‍🍳 Kitchen Fun
We were delighted to have Miah, a student from Stavia, join the children for some special Kitchen Fun. Together, they enjoyed making and creating with food while learning and having fun along the way. 🍪✨

🤲 A Helping Hand
We were also grateful to have our wonderful volunteer, Lerato, come and lend a helping hand. Her time, support and willingness to get involved are always appreciated by our Frangipani family. 💛🌸

It was a lovely week filled with learning, creativity, helping hands and the joyful spirit of Spring! 🌼🌷

🛍️ Theme of the Week: Shops 🛒💰

This week, our classroom was transformed into a busy little shopping world! 🏪 The children learned all about the different types of shops, what they sell and the important people who work in them.

🛒 Shopping in Our Classroom
One of the highlights of the week was creating our very own shop in the classroom! Each child received a basket and had the opportunity to go shopping for treats. 🍬🧺

But there was a little bit of thinking involved too! The children were encouraged to understand how much money they had and how much they could buy with it. This was a fun and practical way to introduce basic money skills and decision-making. 💰😊

✂️ Creating Our Own Shop Collages
The children also spent time cutting out pictures from special pamphlets and creating their own shop collages. This gave them the opportunity to explore the different products we find in shops while practising their cutting and creative skills. ✂️📰🎨

🏪 Different Shops, Different Jobs
We discussed the many different kinds of shops and what they sell. From grocery stores and clothing shops to other businesses in our community, the children learned that every shop has its own special purpose.

We also spoke about the different people who help make a shop run smoothly, including the manager, owner, cashiers, packers and many more. Each person has an important role to play, and together they make up a team. 🤝✨

It was a wonderful week of learning through play, creativity and real-life experiences. Who knows, perhaps we have a few future shop owners, managers or cashiers in our Frangipani family! 😄💛

✏️ **From the Principal’s Desk** ✏️

🥛🐄 **Theme of the Week: Milk and Milk Products** 🧀🥛

This week, our learners explored the wonderful world of **milk and milk products**! We learned about where milk comes from and the many different products that can be made from it, such as cheese, yoghurt, butter and cream. 🐄🥛

Through our activities, the children had the opportunity to learn, colour, create and discover while having lots of fun along the way. 🎨✨ Learning about everyday things in a practical and meaningful way helps our learners connect what happens in the classroom with the world around them.

🤡🎈 **And then there is our little clown!**

Our clown has finally got his **clothes on and his ball back**! 🎪🤹‍♂️ He is looking much more like himself now and is ready for some fun.

His little friend, **Mr Rob**, is still on his way… 🚗💨 So we are patiently waiting to see what adventures these two little characters will get up to together!

It has been another week filled with learning, creativity, laughter and a little bit of clowning around! 💛🌸

Growing Together

At Frangipani School, we are building more than just a vegetable garden. We are creating a space where our learners can learn, participate, nurture and experience the joy of watching something grow.

This project has been made possible through the generosity of people and organisations who believe in our children.

A heartfelt thank you to Robert and Sabina from the Netherlands, who have once again supported Frangipani in such a meaningful way. After previously giving their time and talent to paint our school and create beautiful murals, they have now sponsored the protective cage for our vegetable garden.

We are also incredibly grateful to Harrop Fencing, who contributed towards the fencing of the garden. And in Phalaborwa, we all know why that cage is so important. Our local monkeys have developed quite an appreciation for a freshly planted vegetable garden, so this little bit of protection may be the difference between a successful harvest for our learners and an unexpected feast for our furry neighbours!

A special thank you to Rozelda Sealie and Laeveld Agrochem, through LAC Cares, for donating our summer and winter seed packs. With the seeds, the protection and the garden coming together, we are now ready to start growing.

Every contribution, whether it is time, materials, expertise or seeds, brings us one step closer to creating something meaningful for our learners.

This is what community looks like. People from different places, businesses and individuals coming together to help create opportunities for our children.

Kindness knows no borders, and together we are growing something wonderful.
