Today, on National Feral Cat Day, we at Phalaborwa Animal Welfare Society would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Laerskool Phalaborwa Noord for taking the initiative to hold their own fundraiser in support of our feral cats! 🐱❤️

Your kindness, compassion, and willingness to make a difference mean so much to us. By choosing to support our cause, you are helping us continue our work of caring for feral cat colonies through feeding, sterilisation, and humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

Every contribution helps us provide food, prevent unwanted litters, and give these often-overlooked cats a better chance at a healthier, safer life. 🐾

It warms our hearts to see a school teaching and demonstrating the importance of kindness towards animals. You are showing that even small acts of compassion can make a BIG difference! 💚

While I was at the vet with 'cheeter' waiting for his mommy, i was given a gift by Gerrit. This sweat baby was picked up in the road by the Hervormde Church. Thank you to the gentalman who stopped, picked up this baby & took it to the vet. Bless you sir.
This sweat baby is up for adoption. She is +- 5 weeks old. R1000 adopted fees apply. The photo of her eating is before her bath & the other of her after. She has become ouma vas but i cant keep her. So if you have a place for this little munchkin please contact us.

THE CATS ARE WAITING. 🐾

Every feral feeder will tell you the same thing: when feeding time approaches, the cats are already waiting at the feeding station.

They know. They expect their food. They depend on the routine.

What they don’t understand is when a feeder simply doesn’t arrive.

“If I don't go, where will they get their food tonight?

If you were given food every day of your life and one day your food simply didn't arrive, what would you do?

Cats can't order 60/60.
They can't ask for ASAP.
They can't open a tin or find a solution themselves. So they turn to garbage bags and scraps for survival. In the process, they irritate people who already do not like cats, and the fight about the ferals starts all over again. And who is to blame?

Please have compassion.

If there is a feral colony near you, don't automatically expect someone else to feed it.

👉 Neighbours — get involved.
👉 Families — share the feeding.
👉 Colleagues — take turns.
👉 Friends — volunteer a feeding day.

And if you are already a feeder, you also deserve a break. You need time to recharge without worrying about whether someone will actually show up.

Help a feeder. Share the responsibility. Be reliable.

Because at feeding time, the cats are waiting. 🐾❤️
