What an amazing Term 1 it has been! 💙
We are proud to celebrate our learners’ hard work and achievements — our children passed!

🎉 Their dedication, together with the support from parents, truly made this term a success.
One of our highlights was our 💖 Valentine’s Beauty Contest 💖

It was a fun and exciting day filled with confidence, smiles, and joy. Our learners expressed themselves beautifully and created unforgettable memories! 👑✨

Throughout the term, we also focused on:

✏️ Homework support and extra lessons
🤝 Building confidence and discipline
Despite challenges like heavy rains and floods, learning continued and our children kept pushing forward. 🌧️➡️🌈

🌟🙏 Heartfelt Appreciation to Uthandwayo
Today we celebrate a beautiful act of generosity! 💙

Bagwera ba Dipuku Reading Club and Tlapeng After Care Learning Hub would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Uthandwayo for her generous donation of R1200 toward improving our classroom environment.

Because of your kindness, we were able to purchase 5 bags of cement, 25 litres of first coat paint, and one load of plastering sand to plaster the inside walls of our classroom. This important improvement will help our posters stay firmly in place and support the creation of a sustainable print-rich environment for our learners.

In a time when South Africa is facing a reading-for-meaning crisis, every improvement to our learning space matters. Your contribution is helping us strengthen reading, support learning, and create a more dignified and inspiring classroom for our children.

Bagwera ba Dipuku Reading Club and Tlapeng After Care Learning Hub would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Una, the book reviewer, for the generous donation of beautiful Jacana Media books to our learners.

We are especially excited that these books are written by local South African authors. Stories that reflect our children’s languages, cultures, and everyday realities make reading more meaningful and relatable. Our learners are already showing greater enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity during reading sessions.

South Africa is currently facing a serious reading crisis, with many children struggling to read for meaning. Access to relevant and high-quality books is one of the most powerful ways to change this narrative. Because of your kindness, we are strengthening guided reading, read-aloud circles, vocabulary development, and comprehension support in our programme.

📚💙 Gratitude in Action – Thank You, Mr. Clements and the Book Angels

Bagwera ba Dipuku Reading Club would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Clements, a dedicated library teacher from abroad, for his generous donation of books to our young readers in Phalaborwa.

Your support came at a very critical time. Our community recently experienced heavy rains and flooding, which delayed the reopening of schools in January. Many of our children returned to school already behind with their work and feeling discouraged.

Because of your kindness, our reading sessions are now filled with hope, excitement, and renewed confidence. The donated books are helping our learners strengthen their reading skills, catch up academically, and most importantly—rediscover the joy of reading.

Celebrating National Read Aloud Day
"My story, my language"

We read Dimakatso tsa Handa written by Eileeen Browne published by Jacana Media. This educational book teaches children about friendship, fruits, animals and has a surprising ending. It can be used in mathematics to teach kids counting and subtracting. It can be used in Life skills to teach kids about healthy foods, names of fruits and friendship. It's a great read for beginning readers.

Today marked the first day of school reopening after the devastating floods and heavy rains. We are grateful to see our children returning to learning, stronger and hopeful despite the challenges.
At Tlapeng After Care Learning Hub, we remain committed to supporting learners through:
