Amakhala Volunteers Amakhala Game Reserve is Malaria Free. We do conservation management, by ways of conserving for the future. There is nothing like working and living in the bush.

The Amakhala Volunteers program offers an informative and unforgettable conservation experience perfectly suited to your gap year or as an opportunity for a little breather between career changes. Ways we do so include completing road maintenance, removal of alien vegetations, erosion control, bush clearing and more. We assist ecology with predator and herbivore monitoring including the monitoring

of our lions and elephants. We also help and aid where we can in the community including Isipho Child Centre, located in Paterson. Here we interact with kids of all ages, encouraging a Beading Project where they can earn pocket money and reading as well as playing soccer and more. It's not all hard work and no play as we incorporate fun activities including open sky bush camping, fishing, day and night game drives, a possible Addo excursion and much more. There is much much more to Amakhala Volunteers and the best we can advice is, come and experience it yourself!

Locating predators in their natural state, giving our animals the medical care, love, and attention they deserve 🐾💉❤️ Every day out here is a reminder of how special this life truly is.

And after many, many years, seeing the Boesmans River flowing again thanks to the blessing of rain has been nothing short of magical 🌧️
