The morning was chilly as the cold mist swirled around the beautiful Chapel of St John's College - but the service this morning of Solemn Mass for Liturgical Musicians at the college was full of warm and joyous celebration. With a huge choir filling the organ loft and Head of Chapel Music, Cameron Upchurch at the magnificent organ, it was a fitting celebration of the essence of sacred music for worship. Conducting the choir in the singing of composition, "Missa S. Ioannis" (Mass of St John) was St John's graduate, James Geldenhuys. Father Thapelo Masemola's brilliant sermon about the value of music in worship was the cherry on the top.
