Field & Study Park

Field & Study Park Friends of the Field and Study park is a non profit company (NPC) with the aim to protect, promote and preserve the Field & Study Park. We LOVE our park!!

The Field and Study Park is a sought after community asset, cared for by Joburg City Parks & Zoo (JPCZ) and Friends of the Field & Study (FOFS) who protect it from the many who do not recognise its value as a park and vital green lung. Many have attempted to develop and utilize this space for their various business activities. As Sandton densifies, this priceless piece of land becomes all the more

important for the community's physical health and mental wellbeing. The Field and Study was part of the original Farm Driefontein, which was one of the first farms proclaimed in 1857. This land has a long and fascinating history with a few relics still around the property for those who know the area. People will continue to threaten beautiful green space, but be warned, there are a lot of people behind the scenes committed to protecting this park as a park for EVERYBODY to enjoy. Any activity that compromises another's enjoyment of the park will be challenged. Any 'land grabbing' attempts will fail. every inch of it ;-)
