Paarl Library is collecting new or gently used toys to bring comfort and joy to children spending their holidays in Paarl Hospital.
We need your help to make a difference for these brave little fighters!

✨ What to donate: Clean soft toys, coloring books, crayons, puzzles, dolls, and toy cars, etc.

📚💚 INSPIRING HOPE AND EMPOWERING THE MATRIC CLASS OF 2026 🎓✨

One of our dedicated YearBeyond, Ziyanda Wambi, took the time to share a powerful message of motivation with a group of matric learners of Ihlumelo Secondary School. Her message encouraged learners to believe in themselves, remain focused, persevere through challenges, and give their very best as they prepare for their final examinations.

As part of this initiative, the Mbekweni Library staff handed over matric study packs to support the learners in their exam preparation. This gesture reflects our commitment to promoting education and ensuring that learners from disadvantaged backgrounds have access to resources that can assist them on their academic journey.

We were delighted to be part of the Taalmonument Vitaal Makietie Fees, where Drakenstein Library brought the joy of reading to the little ones! 💛📖
Our fun reading corner gave children the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy a good book. To make reading even more exciting, children could win a sweet treat just for reading! 🍬📚 We also spread the love of reading by giving away books for free, encouraging young readers to take a story home and continue their reading adventure. ❤️

Drakenstein Library Holiday Programme Finale
Drakenstein Library ended its holiday programme at Ouregtersvlei Farm in Wellington with a special storytelling session enjoyed by the children, women and men in the community. 📚✨
As part of our outreach, the women and girls each received 4 packs of sanitary pads, while everyone enjoyed a hotdog and received a lucky packet. 🌭🎁
It was a wonderful day filled with storytelling, community spirit, caring and giving back. ❤️📖
