This is a bitter sweet post,but I'm honoured to say that I am greatful and blessed for my humbling journey in the community work for the past 21 years.
In 2002 I realized God has placed a mandate on my life to make a difference in my community.I never thought I would stay on this course for so long.
I realized very early in my journey with God that he don't always called the qualified,but He qualify the called .
In 2003 I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to study towards my Youth Work degree at Hugenote Kollege.
Soon after that I started to work at Leliebloem House child and youth care Centre.
I left Leliebloem house because God said Albernita Francis you need to go and make a difference in your community.At that time I stayed in Eersteriver ,worked in Athlone ,and were from Paarl.Just how patient God could be He allowed me to follow my own path.
I'm humbled by all the,children now most of them in their 20's ,some probably married, friends and collueges in SA and abroad, Melissa Amroodt , Cindee Bruyns , Ashley Adams , Charmaine Lufefe- Grace Stephens , Griselda Gerbach ,Maryann , Sheila du Plessis , Sharene de Besch they inspired me while working at Leliebloem.I always tell people my job as Education & Recreation Coordinator at Leliebloem House never felt like a job , because I loved it and it was a call. I resigned in 2014,because God called me to move back to Paarl ,this was very difficult to do.My boss Francisco Cornelius at the time could not understand either.
The only thing I could say God has called me for my community.
Early in 2015 God gave a tool call and inspire women in Paarl community,He gave me a tool call Emerging Leaders , Certificate in Community Leadership.
I trained over 200 women that year,to realize that they are leaders.
In 2016 working at Enza Women empowerment as the Centre manager in New Rest area I trained over 200 that year.
In September 2016 till December 2016 I trained in prisons ,probables trained over 180 inmates over the Western Cape and this was one of my most humbling experience to see how these inmates transform to realize what does leadership mean and how your leadership ability impact those around you.
In 2017 God gave me another tool to impact my community Change Within development which still continues with Education Support Program and Life skills ,you may contact me at 0673157879 if you need support for your child. Western Cape Fcw God mandated me to use this tool to specifically impact Paarl community , Lantana,Chicago, Amstelhof ,Smartytown,Magnolia, Bouhemia,Loverslane.
I loved working between this two programs Change Within Development which I founded and registered to educate and guide children and their families how to progress academically.
Foundation for Community work to impact young children and their families thought education support and parenting programs. I work for 7 years between these program every day from 8 till 2 for FCW and from 2 till 5 for Change within- Changing Minds Education after-school Support.
While also studied towards my BEd degree,God has moulded me to further impact my community on a different level ,which I'm forever greatful.
I would not change this for anything.
The people I've met and work with Demorna Smith Justine Esau , Esther Martin , Georgeline Riddles , Ayanda Nondinyana , Angelique McBride , Magrieta Lesch ,Mr Allister G Lightburn , Landre Januarie ,Jenny October , Chantel Abrahams , Guzy Lawrence , Weedaad Alexander, Velcke K**k , Gail Arendse , to mention a few.I must say this was my wilderness period and I'm greatful for this season of my life.I learned a lot from you and throught Foundation for Community tool I gained a lot of confidence in my community.
I can proudly say I obtained my BEd degree in 2021 throught the grace of God and this was one of achievements I wanted to achieve for own son's,nieces & nephews.
This was never about me.
God used this achievement of myself to break through for generations to follow.
I belief God will keep on using me to impact and impart positivity in my community and wherever He place me next.
I'm mostly greatful to my husband and two boys that allowed me to do what I do in my community.
During COVID they also allowed me and the Change Within team to go out to feed our community around Paarl's farm areas without making me feel guilty.
They help with preparations ,the deliveries ,the carrying of heavy products without moaning.
I forever greatful ,thank you Father for this amazing 20 year journey.
I want to leave this message ,God can use where you at ,if you allow Him to.Never focus on the things of God,but focus on the God of things.
If we seek first the kingdom of God all these things will be added unto you.
