🌱 NOURISHING OUR COMMUNITY, ONE HARVEST AT A TIME! 💚

For the past 10 months, the OBHC Nutrition Programme has been making a meaningful difference in our community by supporting children in ECD centres and elderly community members, helping ensure they receive the essential nutrients they need to grow, stay healthy and thrive.

Our Nutrition Programme is supported by gardens at the clinic and throughout the community, where we grow fresh, nutritious vegetables that are used in our meals and to prepare our healthy, homemade nutritional juices.

A special thank you and appreciation to Bongiwe Ngwendu & Jessica Engelbretch for going above and beyond to ensure that our gardens are well cared for, flourishing and continuously providing fresh produce for our Nutrition Programme and juices. Your dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed! 💚👏🏽

Together, we are planting seeds of health, nourishing lives and growing a healthier community. 🌱💚

🌟 CELEBRATING OUR STRONGHER! 🌟

We are incredibly proud and excited to celebrate our very own Lesa Schoeman Seeney on being selected as a StrongHer 2026 Finalist! 🩷✨

The StrongHer Award celebrates women across Kouga who dedicate their time, energy and compassion to serving vulnerable communities and creating meaningful change in the lives of others.

And if there is one thing we know about our StrongHer, it is that she leads by serving. ❤️

Through her dedication, compassion and unwavering commitment to our community, she continues to make a difference often quietly, selflessly and without asking for recognition. Her passion for people, her heart for the community and her determination to make a difference are truly inspiring.

This nomination is not only a recognition of an incredible woman, but also a celebration of the impact she has made and continues to make through her work.

We are so proud to stand beside you and celebrate this well-deserved achievement! 🥹❤️

Congratulations on being a StrongHer 2026 Finalist! 👑

You are an inspiration to us, to the women around you and to the community you serve.

You are strong. You are compassionate. You are a leader. You are a StrongHer. 💐✨

From all of us at OBHC — CONGRATULATIONS! 🩷

Celebrating the Women Who Make a Difference

As Women’s Month draws to a close, we take a moment to celebrate the incredible women who form part of our organisation. 💐

Each woman brings something unique compassion, strength, dedication, wisdom, creativity, and a genuine heart for people. Through their work, they continue to serve, support, uplift, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities around them.

From caring for others, supporting families and children, serving the community, and going the extra mile every day we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.

Today, we honour not only what these women do within our organisation, but the impact they make in and around our community.

Here’s to the women who lead, serve, encourage, care, inspire, and make a difference. 🌷

Today our hearts are overflowing with gratitude as we celebrate the legacy of Nelson Mandela through service, compassion, and a shared commitment to uplifting our community.

A very special thank you to Mr Trevor and his incredible team for dedicating their 67 minutes to our community and for the thoughtful gifts shared with the children. The smiles, laughter, and excitement on the faces of our little ones were a beautiful reminder that kindness has the power to bring hope and joy where it is needed most.

While every moment of today was special, there was one highlight that touched our hearts more deeply than words can express.

The beautiful dances performed by our older girls were far more than a performance. As each girl stood before the audience, she shared her hopes, dreams, and aspirations for the future. In those moments, we saw confidence, courage, talent, and limitless potential. We saw future teachers, nurses, doctors, entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers.

This was the true highlight of our Mandela Day celebration.

At Oyster Bay Healing Centre, we believe that dreams should not simply be spoken about—they should be nurtured, supported, and followed through. For this reason, OBHC is making a commitment today to track and mentor each of these young ladies on their journey. We will engage with them regularly and provide quarterly feedback and progress updates, ensuring that their goals remain in focus and that they receive encouragement and support along the way.

We want every one of these girls to know that their dreams matter. Their community believes in them. Their voices have been heard. And we will walk alongside them as they work towards making those dreams a reality.

In communities such as ours, it is often the smallest acts of belief and encouragement that change the course of a young person's life. Today was not only about celebrating Mandela's legacy—it was about investing in the next generation and creating opportunities for them to thrive.

To Mr Trevor and his team, thank you for helping create a day filled with joy, hope, and inspiration. Your kindness made a difference, and your investment in our children and young people will have a lasting impact.

Together, we continue to build a community where every child is valued, every dream is possible, and every act of kindness helps create a brighter future.

With love, we heal. With hope, we grow. Together, we rise. 💙✨
