What a special evening at the Rotary Retirement Village in Oudtshoorn! 🎉✨

As part of their birthday month good deed, our Rotary members Zelma and Belinda treated the retirees to a beautiful Soup & Sherry Music Evening. 🎷🍲

With the talented Jaco Kriek on saxophone and Belinda adding her wonderful vocals, the evening was filled with music, laughter, dancing, and heartfelt joy. Seeing some of the retirees get up and dance truly made it an unforgettable night.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening so meaningful — moments like these remind us how powerful kindness, music, and community can be. ❤️

Another meaningful Good Deeds Day for our Rotary Club 💙

Today, a group of our members visited Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need, where we donated mielie meal, dog food, mince, and blankets to support the incredible work being done there.
It’s always inspiring to see the care and dedication that goes into giving these animals a second chance.🐕🐶

A special thank you to Abri Ferreira for choosing this much-needed outreach as his birthday month good deed. What a beautiful way to celebrate — by making a real difference.👏🌟

If any members of the community would like to contribute, donations are always welcome. Food, old blankets, and even couches or comfortable chairs (used in their kennels to keep the dogs warm and cosy) are greatly appreciated. Every little bit makes a difference.🙏

Together, we continue to serve and uplift where it’s needed most. 🐾✨

Celebrating March’s Good Deed Day 💙

As part of our new Good Deed Day initiative, our March birthdays, Ursula and Keith, chose to give back in a meaningful way.

On Friday, 13 March, our Rotary Club spent a special morning at Nomonde Preschool. It was heartwarming to see the teachers making use of the Duplo sets, generously donated by Care for Education, as a valuable teaching resource. The children proudly showed us the skills they are learning — a true reminder of the impact of education and support.

Of course, no visit is complete without a little extra joy, and treats were shared with the children, bringing plenty of smiles all around.

A big thank you to the wonderful staff at Nomonde Preschool for hosting us so warmly. Moments like these truly capture the spirit of service and community. 🌿✨

Spreading a little Easter joy 🐣💛

Our Rotary Club had the absolute pleasure of visiting Namondo Crèche for a fun-filled Easter outreach. This is a very special place for us, as it’s a crèche we had the privilege of helping to refurbish and rebuild — and this visit was all about bringing smiles, laughter, and love.

The children enjoyed a delightful Easter egg hunt, filled with excitement and pure joy. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do — making a difference, one smile at a time.

On 6 February, the Oudtshoorn Rotary Club had the pleasure of officially welcoming our newest member, Gavin Block, who was inducted during a warm and festive evening.💫🎉

Gavin was joined by his wife as we celebrated this special occasion together.

Let's celebrate together!💫🎉🥂

Rotary International was founded on 23 February 1905, in Chicago, Illonois, by attorney Paul Harris.

Harris established the club to create a fellowship for professionals of diverse baclgrounds to exchange ideas.

The first meeting included Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele and Hiram Shorey, with name "ROTARY" originating from the early practice pf rotating meetings among members' offices.

This anniversary is celebrated annually by Rotarians worldwide as World Understanding and Peace Day, honoring the organizations commitment to international friendship, service and peacebuilding.

Die Rotary Club van Oudtshoorn doen ’n vriendelike beroep op ons gemeenskap, omliggende dorpe en enige iemand wat wil help, om pre-loved tweedehandse klere, skoene en handsakke te skenk.

Ons gaan ’n stalletjie hou by die Klein Karoo Kunstefees, waar items verkoop sal word. 🌿

✨ Elke sent wat ingesamel word, gaan direk terug na ons Rotary-projekte wat daarop gemik is om die gemeenskap van Oudtshoorn te ondersteun en op te bou.

👉 Het jy klere of items wat jy nie meer gebruik nie? Gee dit ’n tweede lewe én help ons om hoop te bring waar dit nodig is.
