🐾 Our first Canine Good Citizen test in Oudtshoorn! 🐾

On 2 & 3 October, Caring Friends Therapy Dogs hosted our very first Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test in Oudtshoorn, and what a weekend it was!

Alongside our own therapy dogs, we welcomed participants from George and Mossel Bay, as well as other dog enthusiasts from Oudtshoorn. 🐶

🏅 Every participant passed their Bronze and Silver tests!
🥇 For Gold, we've learned there's still a lot of practice ahead, but we're excited for the challenge.

A huge thank you to our judge from Cape Town, Liz Chamberlain, who not only encouraged us but also took the time to teach us the aspects and rules of these official KUSA tests. We learned so much from you!

We're also delighted to welcome Nanaette with Buks, Lize with Daisy and Surina with Kiko to our team in Mossel Bay. 💛

This was certainly not our last CGC event. We hope to inspire many more dog owners to work and train towards these standards. Well-mannered dogs make happier owners and a better community!

And so another year to reflect on comes around. Yesterday, the Caring Friends had our yearly meeting to reflect on our achievements over the last year, discuss the path going forward and very excitingly announce this past year's therapy dog and handler of the year! 🤩 (Stay tuned for that exciting announcement.)

We are thankful for everything that we have received, only through the grace of God, and excited for what the rest of the year has in store. Thank you for the continued support of the community and our followers.
