The Waterberg Chamber of Commerce is ‘n non-political business organisation which accommodates al ramifications of the corporate framework. The size of the business or enterprise is not a measurable factor for more or better service. The Chamber pleads and promotes the free market economical system and believes it not sinful to make profit. It is the mouthpiece/voice regarding local matters, withi
n the framework of the AHI’s mission and objectives. The Chamber meets on a regular basis and gives members the opportunity to discuss matters concerning the area. Projects are taken up to benefit members of the Chamber directly or indirectly through it.
‘n Great advantage for any member is that he gets the chance to promote his own business interests by attending a Chamber’s frequent gathering events and meetings and keeps in touch with fellow businessmen. A Chamber brings its members’ wishes and needs under the attention of the local authorities on an organised basis – with results which the individual can seldom achieve on his own. The advantages that a membership holds for businessmen appear in the wide range of activities and the manner in which the interests of businesses are represented in all fields of society. The value it holds for a member depends on the support he offers to the Chamber and how actively he himself makes use of the services. Fruitful contact with fellow businessmen in the organised corporate world is offered to members of the Chamber. Members can apply to the Chamber for information and guidance or for contact with other organisations and quarters. Organised performance adds more weight than the voice of an individual. The Chamber is the channel through which each Afrikaans businessman and business enterprise of organised performance, supported by the AHI as national organisations, can make use of to its own advantage and to the advantage of business in general. The AHI delivers representations on behalf of members on national, provincial and local level. The AHI is represented on government bodies and other organisations which are of great value to members. The AHI acts on behalf of members in national forums like the Business Forum, Housing Forum and the National Labour Commission.
