Today, our Sunday Adoption Update starts with a heartbreaking farewell to two precious souls who will forever hold a very special place in our hearts.
Our beloved Izzy and Ziggy have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 💔
And after spending so much time waiting at Nigel SPCA, an extraordinary family from Meyerton opened their hearts and home to Izzy, Ziggy and Bella, giving all three the most beautiful gift imaginable — a forever home, together. Their family shared the most beautiful memories of their short time together.
Izzy, our affectionate girl who gave the world's best hugs, loved her food and never missed an opportunity to shower her humans with love.💔
Ziggy, our happy, joyful boy, who was finally gaining much-needed weight and had become so excited about mealtimes that he would jump up and down with happiness.💔
They were safe. They were cherished. They were HOME.
On Sunday, 11 October, an unexpected swarm of bees attacked the family and their animals. Despite urgently seeking emergency veterinary care, our precious Izzy passed away that evening, followed by Ziggy early on Monday morning.
Bella, thankfully, survived.
There are simply no words to describe the devastation we feel.
Izzy and Ziggy left this world knowing the warmth of a home, the comfort of a family, the joy of being loved and the beautiful feeling of belonging. They knew what it was like to be someone's whole world.
To their incredible family, our hearts are broken alongside yours.
We know that no words can ease the pain of losing them so suddenly, but we hope you find some comfort in knowing that you gave them the greatest gift of all — love, without limits.
Run free together, our beautiful angels. You were wanted. You were chosen. You were loved. And you will never, ever be forgotten. 💔🌈
