🌙🤍 A Blessed Friday & The Day of 'Āshūrā' 🕌

Today is a truly special day, as Jumu'ah (Friday) coincides with the 10th of Muharram ('Āshūrā')—two blessed occasions in one day.

For those who are fasting, today is an opportunity to combine the virtues of the Sunnah fast of 'Āshūrā' with the blessings of Jumu'ah.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

«"Fasting the Day of 'Āshūrā', I hope from Allah, expiates the sins of the previous year."»

He also said regarding Friday:

«"The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday..."»

🌿 What Should We Do Today?

💛 Fast the Day of 'Āshūrā' (along with the 9th or 11th if possible).

💛 Attend Jumu'ah prayer early.

💛 Send abundant Ṣalawāt upon Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

💛 Increase du‘ā, especially during the hour in which supplications are answered on Friday.

💛 Seek Allah's forgiveness and make sincere repentance.

Jumu'ah Mubārak & 'Āshūrā' Mubārak! 🤍🌙

“Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.” (Qur’an 49:13)

Islam came to a world divided by race, tribe, color, and social status and replaced these divisions with taqwa (God-consciousness). Allah created humanity from a single man and woman, teaching us that our differences are signs of His wisdom, not reasons for superiority.

Hazrat Bilal ibn Rabah (RA), an Abyssinian companion of the Prophet ﷺ, was once enslaved and persecuted for accepting Islam. Despite severe torture, his faith remained unshaken as he continued proclaiming: “Ahad, Ahad” (“One, One”), affirming the Oneness of Allah.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ later said to Bilal (RA):

“I heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me in Paradise.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)

This powerful narration reminds us that honor in Islam is not based on race, wealth, lineage, or worldly status but on faith and righteous deeds.

The Prophet ﷺ also declared in his Farewell Sermon:

“An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor a non-Arab over an Arab; neither a white person over a black person, nor a black person over a white person, except by piety.”
(Reported in Musnad Ahmad)

Before looking down on someone because of their race, ethnicity, language, or background, remember: Allah judges hearts and deeds, while humans often judge appearances.

May Allah remove arrogance from our hearts, unite the Ummah upon righteousness, and make us among the people of Jannah. Ameen.

💚 Rawdah: A Garden From the Gardens of Paradise 🕌✨

Among the most blessed places in the world is the Rawdah, located inside Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.

It is the area between the house of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his pulpit (Minbar).

For centuries, Muslims have cherished this blessed place and sought the opportunity to pray there, hoping for Allah's mercy and blessings.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

♦️ “What is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.”

This authentic hadith is the reason why the Rawdah is known as "A Garden From the Gardens of Paradise."

The Rawdah is not large in size, yet its virtue is immense.

The Rawdah reminds believers of the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who worshipped Allah, taught Islam, and guided the Ummah from this very place.

🌙 The Day of 'Ashura 🤍✨

One of the most blessed days of the Islamic year is the 10th of Muharram, known as 'Ashura.

It is a day of gratitude, fasting, and remembering the great mercy of Allah.

On this day, Allah saved Prophet Musa (AS) and the Children of Israel from the oppression of Fir‘awn (Pharaoh) by parting the sea.

When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) arrived in Madinah, he found the Jews fasting on the Day of 'Ashura.

They said that it was the day on which Allah saved Musa (AS).

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

♦️ "We have more right to Musa than they do."

He then fasted on the Day of 'Ashura and instructed the Muslims to fast it.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also said:

♦️ "Fasting the Day of 'Ashura, I hope from Allah, expiates the sins of the previous year."

To distinguish the Muslim practice from that of the Jews, the Prophet (SAW) intended to fast the 9th of Muharram along with the 10th.

🌿 Istighfar: The Key to Peace 🌿

Sometimes we search everywhere for peace, happiness, and solutions, while the answer is already on our tongues:

أستغفر الله وأتوب إليه "I seek Allah's forgiveness and repent to Him."

Istighfar is not just for sinners; it is the habit of the Prophets and the righteous. It brings tranquility to the heart, blessings in life, relief from worries, and draws us closer to Allah.

When you feel lost, say Astaghfirullah. When you feel burdened, say Astaghfirullah. When you are grateful, say Astaghfirullah.

A heart connected to Istighfar is never deprived of Allah's mercy.

✨ Make Istighfar a daily habit. ✨ Fill your tongue with the remembrance of Allah. ✨ Trust that every sincere repentance is heard by the Most Merciful.

🌧️ Dua When Rain Falls🌧️

Rain is one of Allah’s beautiful blessings and a sign of His mercy upon the earth. When we see the rain falling, let us remember the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet ﷺ and recite this simple dua:

اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا

Allahumma Ṣayyiban Nāfi‘an

“O Allah, make it beneficial rain.”

This short dua teaches our children to turn to Allah in every situation and to be grateful for His countless blessings. 💙

May Allah send us rain that brings goodness, mercy, growth, and benefit to all people, animals, and plants. 🤲

⚔️ Battle of Badr: The First Major Victory of Islam 🤍🕌

The Battle of Badr was the first major battle fought by the Muslims and one of the most significant events in Islamic history.

It took place on the 17th of Ramadan in the 2nd year after the Hijrah, near the wells of Badr, southwest of Madinah.

On one side stood approximately 313 Muslims with limited weapons and resources.

On the other side stood around 1,000 warriors from Quraysh, fully equipped and determined to destroy the Muslim community.

Despite being greatly outnumbered, the Muslims placed their trust in Allah.

Before the battle, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) spent the night in prayer, making sincere du‘ā and seeking Allah's help.

Allah answered the prayers of His Messenger (SAW) and granted victory to the believers.

Allah says:

♦️ “And Allah had already given you victory at Badr while you were few in number. So fear Allah that you may be grateful.”

📖 Al-Qur'an 3:123

During the battle, Allah strengthened the believers and sent angels to support them.

The Muslims achieved a remarkable victory, demonstrating that success comes not from numbers or strength alone, but from faith, obedience, and reliance upon Allah.

The Battle of Badr became a turning point in Islamic history and strengthened the position of the Muslims in Arabia.

The Companions who participated in Badr were given a special status among the Muslims.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said regarding the people of Badr:

♦️ “Allah looked at the people of Badr and said: Do whatever you wish, for I have forgiven you.”
