With the funds received, we will help deserving rural children access education. Established and unleashed from a combined 80-year service and contribution to the Education Sector in South Africa. The former Transkei (now Eastern Cape) -born founders, hailing from “’Transkei” which represented a significant precedent and historic turning point in South Africa's policy of apartheid and separate de
velopment, it was the first of four territories to be declared independent of South Africa. Throughout its existence, it remained an internationally unrecognised, diplomatically isolated, politically unstable state, which at one point broke relations with South Africa, the only country that acknowledged it as a legal entity. In 1994, it was reintegrated into its larger neighbour and became part of the Eastern Cape province. It is from this background that the founders of APMF (Mr AP & Mrs NT Madubula) originate from. The former School Principals bring a story of hope, resilience and courage, as they both have witnessed all odds of being and educating a Rural South African child. Witnessing discrepancies about the quality of education found in schools throughout South Africa, it has been evident as we learned that a vast majority of children go to schools that fall far below average and, as a result, are leaving with less than average skills, rising beyond these phenomena becomes a story of resilience. This is not because these children have better choices as sadly, this cycle has become an acceptable norm in rural South African communities. Because of these inequalities, the APM Foundation has made assisting South Africa with its struggling education system one of its main goals. We aim to accomplish this by providing funding and by sending South African students from poor rural backgrounds to have an opportunity to study in various private schools.
