Today, we celebrate the power, potential, and promise of South Africa's youth.

Youth Day reminds us that the future of our nation is being shaped by the young people who dare to dream, work hard, and rise above their circumstances. It is our responsibility to ensure that talent is never limited by opportunity.

We are committed to investing in the next generation of leaders, innovators, athletes, and changemakers, empowering them to reach their full potential and leave their own mark on South Africa's story.

To every young South African: your dreams matter, your voice matters, and your future matters.

Today, we mourn the passing of South African horse racing legend Ormond Ferraris.

For more than six decades, Ormond dedicated his life to the sport he loved, training thousands of winners and producing some of the finest thoroughbreds in South African racing history. From Derby and Oaks triumphs to his memorable Durban July victory with Distinctly and Triple Tiara success with Cherry On The Top, his achievements helped shape the sport for generations.

Inducted into the South African Hall of Fame in 2025, Ormond's legacy extends far beyond the winners' enclosure. He will be remembered for his unwavering passion, remarkable horsemanship, and lifelong contribution to horse racing.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the entire racing community.
