PRESS RELEASE – 26 MARCH 2026 – MUIZENBERG COMMUNITY POLICING FORUM
ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR POSSESSION OF ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION IN SEAWINDS
The SAPS Muizenberg Station Commander, Lieut. Colonel Manuel, commends the vigilance and proactive efforts of members who continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the Muizenberg policing precinct.
On Monday, 23 March 2026 at approximately 02:20, members of Muizenberg SAPS were conducting patrols in the Seawinds area when they noticed a suspicious individual. Upon searching the suspect, officers discovered an illegal firearm and ammunition in his possession.
The suspect was arrested on the scene and the firearm and ammunition were confiscated. The matter is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service.
The Muizenberg CPF commends the vigilance and proactive policing efforts of the SAPS members involved. The removal of illegal fi****ms from our streets plays a critical role in reducing violent crime and improving community safety.
We appeal to all community members to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities. Community information is vital in preventing crime and protecting lives.
