Axium Education

Axium Education We are an NPO working in the rural Eastern Cape ensuring rural learners leave school with purpose, agency and options.

Our project draws on a number of strategies that offer additional support at critical stages in the education journey, recognising that this is one that begins with early childhood development and continues throughout life. Interventions focus on the school pipeline from early grade foundations to tertiary access, using a combination of direct work with students, on-going support to schools and teachers, and rural-focused research and advocacy.

Our designers and illustrators are in full flow creativity spilling onto every page. This is easily the most challenging (and exciting) phase of our Book Dash journey, where ideas are pushed, stories come alive, and magic starts to take shape.

For many children in rural communities, walking long distances to school is part of everyday life. Rain or shine, they make the journey because education matters.

On 6 June 2026, we’re inviting the kuGompo community to join Walk in Their Shoes. This is a 5km community walk raising funds and awareness for rural education through Axium Education.

Bring your friends, family, colleagues, and children as we come together for a meaningful morning by the beach.
