Mpophomeni Conservation Group We strive to spread environmental awareness, education, gardening, sustainability. "We are the change we want to see in to see in the world"

A small group of committed conservationists, food growers and environmental students started the Mpophomeni Conservation Group (MCG) in 2012. The group intends to inspire others in their communities to think about their lifestyles with regards to sustainability, resilience, climate change, biodiversity conservation and animal rights. They host regular walks in the hills surrounding Mpophomeni. Join the Howickman Hiking Club for info. Mpophomeni was established in 1964. A large wetland surrounds the township and the name Mpophomeni comes from the sound of falling water.
